But I am willing to save judgement until Riley has a year or two to get the players that he wants in his system. These are players left over from the Streeter and Elliot timeframe. Offensive production started to dwindle once Scott left.

Offensive production stated to dwindle when Morris left... the Scott was resting on Randolph`s laurels and he took the dwindle with him to USF...Scott landed is a proven commodity that we don't need! He never had a clue, and while CM had a great offensive mind he never could look with the same intensity at defense...It appears that BV has that 2 way mirror..he is the real deal!

And you think that’s on the players? Remind me again what our recruiting ranking have been the past few years….the talent is here. The coaching ain’t.

I will say I got concerned hearing Riley say we didn’t attempt to go deep against Wake because of the cover 2 zone defense. That’s the Dabo and Streeter speak we heard for allowing a defense to dictate your gameplan. Meanwhile, there are passing routes that go up field and are intended to counter zone coverage. Instead, the Clemson offense sticks with a steady diet of WR screens and RPO that makes the Tigers look like the offense has no plays in book beyond 15 yds.

I think Riley is experiencing similarities to BV's first year at OK. Riley doesn't have all the tools this year to unleash and execute his offense. Next year, everyone, including his QB, will have a year of experience in his offense and he will get an influx of recruiting talent at WR, RB and TE that will have a chance to play early and help his offense really start to take off.
I'm very excited at where this team will be a year from now.
