Tony Bennett is a great coach. Brad isn't.

8 ACC championships, 4 sweet 16's, a national title. Nobody does more with less than Bennett. Playing UVA is incredibly frustrating. I hate watching us play them more than anyone else. We seem to never come out on top, and often we get completely embarrassed.
Can you imagine how much more interest there would be in Clemson basketball if Tony Bennett were running the program?
Apologies for posting before that Clemson owes Brad $6 million. Thanks viztiz® for setting the record straight on the $2 million he's owed if he's fired now.
Everything isn't Brad's fault. I wish fans turned out more. I wish the ACC weren't criminally undervalued and that the tournament selection process weren't bogus. We should have been in last year. However, if we get in this year, it will be like getting a make up call. The way this team finished: 10-10 over their last 20, 1-3 with 2 bad losses over the last 4, sleepwalking its way to a 1st round ACCT blowout; it doesn't deserve a bid.
2 NCAAT wins in 14 years isn't good. 7 ACCT wins in 14 years isn't good. I'm tired of listening to guys like Seth Greenburg talk about Brad being one of the best coaches in the country. He's won 2 NCAAT games in 22 years. In 14 years at Clemson, he's finished better than 5th in the ACC 3 times (a T-4 and 2 T-3's), and he's won more than one ACCT game zero times. These are not the accomplishments of "one of the best coaches in the country." They aren't Tony Bennett accomplishments. They're not really accomplishments at all.
Now's the time to move on. It's impossible to know what the next guy will do. But we do know what we'd be giving up: $2 million and a big bag of nothing.
By the way, this thread is what prompted me to make the Bennett/Brad comparison: https://www.tigernet.com/clemson-forum/thread/if-virginia-loses-it-has-to-be-on-bennett-2339029?tstart=0

Agreed on Brad not being a good coach. Yeah Bennett is good but I do not want him at Clemson. His teams are unwatchable. Horrible style of bball to watch.

But it would probably be a lot more fun if you were winning all the time. Bennett's gonna coach at UVA forever would be my guess.

Tigerpaw said it correct. The fun is in the winning. As for Bennett, I can only imagine what he would have done with the talent on our team.
Let's not act like Virginia is some big name blueblood in college bball. He made it that way.
As for the lack of fans. We actually averaged more ticket sales than Alabama. When we played them, their arena had a lot of empty seats. I believe with every fiber in my body, that if we parted ways with Brad, we'd fill it up with enthusiasm.

You're more obsessed with Bennett than that one poster is with Creed

You got me mixed up with someone else. I’m under no such delusion that Clemson basketball could hire an established hall of fame coach.
I saw on the boards where someone posted a thread about how tnet would flip out if brad lost a game the way uva did last night. That’s what prompted me to start this thread. Trying to act like things are so unfair for brad and using tony bennett to make that point is either disingenuous or, well, idiotic
