Wolfpups are honoring Russell Wilson at their spring game.

Thought they honored him pretty well by cutting him loose so they could start Mike Glennon.

The time. That is Wilson's fault not NC States.
It would be funny if Wisconsin did the same and Wilson chose to show up for that 1 instead.

Tom O'Brien or NC State for that decision. At some point you need some structure for your team, and having one guy going back and forth disrupts that and is a distraction. It's kinda like the Packers with Favre. At some point it becomes a soap opera rather than a football team.

Then why honor him if he just caused problems?***

that he did nothing but cause problems from my post.
I'm simply saying that I think plenty of other coaches and programs may have made that decision as well given the circumstances.
He was a great player when he was there, and of course they are going to honor him given his success at the next level.

"Disrupts", "Distraction", and "Soap Opera"

These words indicate problems, not positivity. Also, I didn't say he caused "nothing but problems". If, as you said, his time at NCSt caused disruptions, distractions, and a soap opera atmosphere, why would that person be honored or get a patch on a team's jersey? Seems to me that his presence actually undermined the team if your description is correct.
The real story here is this is ALL they have going for them. A new hotshot coach produced abysmal results.

NC state was all of these things. Sorry if that was not clear. I was referring to his flirtation with baseball.
I agree with you about this being all they have going for them though. Going to be another long year for them.

See, I just don't recall him being that good at State.

I think he is only getting honored now because they want a Superbowl champion to hang around. Rivers #### sure isn't going to bring one home any time soon.
