David, why in the heck are you looking ahead to the 2017 season? If you want to talk about our backup quarterbacks, talk about what they will provide in terms of competition. Makes no sense to wish this season away and already talk about who can potentially start next year. We're trying to win a national championship, so let's get everyone on board and think about the HERE and NOW.

Come on guys, He's really worried about 2017. His beloved Gamecocks will be searching for a new coach because muskrat will realize about half way through this season that he's got to get out of there before the coaches graveyard curse takes full effect. Then they will have to settle for their 12th choice (Sandusky) may be eligible for parole by then. Go Tigers

WE're all looking forward to 2016, but it's the offseason. We can only talk about this team and this season so much. Looking ahead to future seasons and future recruiting classes is something everyone does at some point or another.

I'm not worried about it; the coaches will have plenty of time to pick the best option out of a very talented crowd. But everybody in the rest of that 4-5 star crowd won't be happy wearing vests on the sidelines and helping call plays.
It's a good problem to have, I suppose, and I agree that we're definitely set for the future. But next year we'll have FIVE 4-5 star QBs on campus, and could all potentially be there in 2018 too. And you know all these guys are on scholarship, which makes me wonder how common it is for a team to have that many scholarship QBs at the same time.
Don't mean this to be a negative post, just one grounded in reality. Again, I'm absolutely thrilled that we're stacked at QB for the future. The only downside I see is having a lot of scholarships tied up at QB in 2017 and 2018 if nobody transfers. I don't see any way all five stay though. All five are good enough to start at some Power 5 school.
So the questions are:
Who starts in 2017?
Who starts in 2018?
Who transfers?
Does nobody transfer, and do we have the deepest QB pool in the history of CFB at the expense of a couple of scholarships?

I'm thinking that if Kelly Bryant or Tucker Israel aren't the starter in 2017, one or both will be starting some where else in 2018. They both are talented enough to start some where!!!

back years ago Tech had 4 Q/B`s go down in the first half.. now this is WAY BEFORE Johnson !! in the next game they lost #5 and had in corner back playing

We may very well be "just fine" in the future at QB, but we will most definitely come down a notch at the position. We currently have the best football player in Clemson history playing at the position. There will be a drop, make no mistake about it.

think Bryant changes positions. Israel may never see the field and most likely to transfer. Unless some of the others -like cooper are willing to change at least one more will transfer. With redshirt, someone may be willing to have a one-season career. one thing for sure, they all knew the roster and were willing to come.

CU will be known as QBU & WRU before long. I do think a couple will transfer. Theyre all good enough to start any team so the likely hood they all will stay is slim-to-none. Im stoked about Coop coming this season and even more stoked about Johnson next season. Both would fill in DWs shoes pretty good. Definitely not without a little dropoff but both are going to be record breakers for sure. Cant wait to see how it unfolds. Go Tigers!
