Would the relegation model work for CFB??

I think that might be where things are headed, but it sure does seem complicated and I don't know how it would work. That said, I imagine the boys in Bristol are working hard with Stankey and Petitti to figure out how it would work. And that might be how FSU/Clemson would make their way into the SEC. I.e. if Vandy and the Coots continue to be bottom dwellers they would be rolled out and FSU/CU rolled in, or something like that - but how would that affect advance scheduling and all the womens' and the Olympic sports??? That all just seems waaaaay complicated, but stay tuned because I think that's what the networks want.

But first FSU/CU have to win their lawsuits, and I for one don't like their chances. For one thing, the ACC GOR is nearly identical in legal structure to the SEC/B1G GOR's so it stands to reason that if the ACC GOR collapses, then all GOR's will collapse and that would be ultimate chaos.

You said it but you may not have meant it this way

If you listen to that beacon of arrogance, Greg Sankey, it sounds like this is exactly what he's hoping for. I believe he's looking for a way to blow the whole thing up and start over. It would be his chance to get the brands he doesn't want out of his conference without it looking like it was his doings.

I think he also believes that he is so powerful (and he might be right) that he will have the same or greater level of influence in the new order that he does right now.

Personally, I think they are at risk of having NASCAR 2.0 on their hands.

Relegation would need to be Football only

Even then, I'm not a huge fan of it if we're going to call if CFB.

IMO only way something like this works is if football breaks away from college. On that day college football officially dies and I believe it'll actually be the start of the downfall for Minor League Football coming back to earth.

Non starter, conferences are not professional leagues.

Yes, because college athletes are amateurs

who are in school primarily to get an education.

I'd love to stay and chat but it's almost time for "Father Knows Best". I never miss that show.
