25 Defense Expectations

I was never a fan of Goodwin when we was hired and I am glad Dabo got rid of him after this year. I don’t know much about Allen and have not watched Penn St this year, but I like what I’m reading about him joining the staff. In this upcoming season I hope he restores the intensity that BV brought when he was here. I also would like to see the corners playing up on the receivers in 2nd/3rd and long, too many times this season a receiver caught a 7 yard pass that resulted into a first down after a long down to gain. I hope with the DE transfer and the returning players that Allen lets the defense play free and apply pressure in all downs. As a fan, I can take getting burned on occasion and I understand that is the risk of playing aggressive but I can not watch another year of sit back and react defense that we’ve watched the last 3 seasons. I am really looking forward to watching a new defense with a new mindset trot out against LSU.
