These 17 yr old Kids with special FB talents are holding colleges & their coaches hostage!

Jul 25, 2015, 11:41 PM

When a person gives their committment then that should be it! These coaches & colleges have spent a lot of $ & time and deserve better.. And when a player takes back his word then the coaches have to start all over in trying to find a replacement to fill that vacancy.

This has gotten out of hand..and any player with any bit of honor.. To himself & to his parents should be ashame of playing this hurtful & disrespectful game!

Just don't pledge if you any doubts..and wait, i say.

It works both ways. Some kids find out at the last minute

their offer is withdrawn. Seems like Spurred did that to a kid a few years ago.

you really need to calm down

Jul 26, 2015, 12:04 AM

And I mean that seriously. Let the coaches take care of these things. Really.

Gotten out of hand, when? We've had some of the best recruiting since the GD 80s and the big, old, bad homers are now going to have strokes because a recruit gave an interview you don't like.

You slobbered all over Chad Kelly, we got him, and how did that turn out?

Wanna make another thread about how awesome Kelly will be for Ole Miss? How he's gonna make his HOF Uncle prowd?

Maybe it's time for some of you older guys to remember you own daddys and ####.

I have read "Bill's" post about 5 times now and still don't see any reference to Chad Kelley in it. What are you talking about "Wise" Tiger? All Bill is saying is to level the playing field for both sides. A commitment is a commitment for both. If you aren't ready to commit completely, then don't commit. Secondly, I believe that once you commit, then there should be a 2 week or so period for serious reevaluation for both sides and after that period, you can sign a LOI and it is binding on both sides unless the head coach or the recruits position coach is fired or leaves voluntarily. Should that happen, then the recruit has an additional 30 days or so for reevaluation. I recognize there could be some "tweeking" of this thought process but the fundamentals should be basically the same.

you must have not been on TNet

during the recruitment of Kelly. Ol Bill was messaging Kelly on Facebook and then bragging about it on here.

And, there is NO early signing period at this moment and that's not going to change before signing day 2016, so don't bring up it should be yada, yada, this.

Finally, recruits read these boards. Why not let the professionals work - or try to work - these things out before claiming some recruit cannot honor a commitment and then state that he signed something?

Lol, recruits definitely do not read the boards

Maybe one or two guys every now and then

Seems like an early signing period would benefit us....

Jul 26, 2015, 12:17 AM

more than most. Most coaches, I think, are for it yet I wonder if it's best for the players. I go back and forth on this one. You could definitely make cases for either.

Bill,

There is nothing to sign. These are 'verbals' (I refuse to use the term 'commitment' for these kinds of things with very young student atheletes) and not a committed letter of intent.

World is their oyster.

I'm not worried about Feaster. Mr Steele said not to worry so im not.

SPOT ON ! Especially when you have dedicated 5 years to making them the targeted recruit rb for that year and the years around that year !

"UnWiseTiger"..desist from saying I've face- booked Kelly..a lie!

Jul 26, 2015, 8:50 AM

I rarely get onto FB, and I have never FB'ed Chad Kelly, but I have posted on TNet that I felt he could have been a very good & needed QB at Clemson (if he had behaved)..and that I feel he will do well at Ole Miss.

GoTiGERS!
