Luckily our past sweet 16 made getting top 5 talent in MBB not a problem. We all pull for CU but to believe that the portal is the answer against the top 5 players in CFB is very short sided. We all wish that Dabo had CBB ability in the portal but that is probably left to a few great recruiters. CDS is probably one we sould move on from.

I agree its a point, our offensive philosophy is puzzling at best....but its not what I would do considering how gracious Dabo treated DJU (given his poor performances) and his family situation. Dabo was REALLY there for him when the kid REALLY needed it. I would assume, incorrectly it seems, that the family would be thankful for that and move on.

Yes it is a valid point but you're correct it's a family member in denial about DJs God awful QB play, looking for a scapegoat with no appreciation for DJ being gifted QB1 for 2 seasons-unappreciative and classless for voicing publically

Have you ever not been a giant hypocrite? Do you live and breathe hypocrisy. I've never seen you get critical of Brownwell on these boards once and he has underachieved and put out some subpar results year after year. I don't see you calling out his lack of developing talent or finding better assistants consistently.

Yet, whenever I say something to her she TDs me. What that confirms for me is a) she is reading, and b) she has another donating scok.
She's been busted with numerous socks (and oddly doesn't get banned is), and she continues to break board rules without repercussion. Makes you wonder who she really is.

There's no doubt about it. Current recruits weren't even in high school during our last title. They've watched the SEC dominate the title since we did.

When he refers to “this offense” is he referring to the one his nephew commanded at Clemson after 30 games? Or the one that a freshman QB in his first start put up nearly 500 yards on a SEC defense in his first start.

The same uncle deleted his earlier post. Looks like he decided not to let a dead dog lie.
Considering the graciousness given by the coaching staff to his nephew (by that I mean kid gloves, not saying anything bad about him, propping him up despite being hounded for a QB change, supporting him through tough family issues, etc...) considering the lack of performance by DJ, it would be the adult thing to do to not say this. To insinuate that no fault lies on the player would be silly. With that said, DJ dealt with a lot of adversity from his OWN family.
Look, it was a bad fit all around. And there might be some legitimacy to the point of offensive philosophy, or playcalling, But…Be a man, an adult and a pro… if you have an issue, say it to Dabo and Streeter in private. This kind of stuff always comes back to haunt you. As Brent Venables, once said…… Less is more.
The TRUTH is Dabo did more for that kid than Saban or Kirby would have EVER had done. Be gracious, move on and hope for the best with ORE STATE

WHO IN THE HELLLL does he think he is to open his mouth and utter one dammm, freaking word about our school and program after what Clemson and our staff did for his nephew! I swear, people like that motormouth know-it-all make me want to puke.
I wish DJ nothing but success; I appreciate Oregon State willing to give him an opportunity. I don't appreciate one iota that character uncle or anyone else in that family offering their "opinions" about one frigging thing about my Alma Mater or its programs.

I’m not a fan of Streeter as OC, but after everything Dabo did for DJ, and put the whole season on the line to stand behind him, and now this family goes and slams his program and coaches like this? You know the uncle is doing this with Big Dave’s approval. Throwing Dabo and Streeter under the bus to make DJ look good.
Uncle Mau and that whole toxic ### family are straight up trash. Please no more Cali players.

It’s exactly spot on at least in recruiting top tier WR’s and RB’s. We’ve reportedly went after players in the portal but no evidence of that on who we’ve brought in. It’s been obvious we lack speed, TN boat raced us with many of their starters either hurt or opting out. Streeter is over his head along with our other in house coaches. If a top 15 team meets or exceeds expectations (because of how bad we were during the West days) is ok then fine, though most reference as compared to recent history.

Mau just needs to shut up. I’m not totally sold on Streeter, but DJ has some major confidence issues along with simply not being a good QB.
The staff showed an unbelievable degree of patience with DJ.
Let DJ show up at Oregon State and throw balls high, wide and low to wide open receivers and lock on to one receiver and he’ll be sitting down very soon.
I wish DJ great success, but the offensive scheme is not what’s wrong with DJ and he was treated more than fair.

Jan 2, 2023, 4:37 PM

Dabo hung with him as a starter FAR longer than just about every other coach in the COUNTRY would have, given his level of play. They must think he could have been developed far better than he was. The real answer to that question will come next year.
