I don't usually do this (ask strangers for prayer) but if it is not too much trouble, could you guys say a little prayer for my family, me and my dog sometime today?
Our dog has been a friend, companion and family member for 12 years now and it is going to hurt like a mug, but he needs to go out on top and not suffer anymore. He was diagnosed with an aggressive, rare form of cancer that has spread to his Lymphatic system. The prognosis is terminal, and it is time to say goodbye before he suffers anymore.
He has been my football buddy and loving presence in our families lives ever since he has been with us. During Clemson games, he would lay beside me on the couch and listen to me scream at the television and nuzzle me to scratch his head when he thought I needed to calm down. He has been loyal and loving all the way up to the end and my family and I will miss that big old fat "puddin" of a bulldog terribly.

I know your hurt,I've had to put down three dogs over the last
forty years and cried like a baby each time,They all lived to be
13 yrs old.My advice is,wait about two months and then go and get
you a dog with the same breed. I bought what will be my last dog,
a cocker spaniel at 73 yrs old and she has grown into a joy at
6 yrs.old.Heads up Tiger,your grief will pass but your memories wont.

Unlike nearly everything else that you own in life, a good dog is not paid for when you get him, but when you lose him. At that point you finally find the true cost of all those years as the bill comes due in full.
May the pain of his passing bring some small measure of comfort as you realize it’s a reflection of the true value of him in your life.

Been there multiple times. Most recently five years ago when I laid across the table on top of Mr. Boot. There is no replacing, It took me four years to accept a gift my wife wanted to give me immediately. NVDO is now fourteen months. He is a total joy, but he is not a replacement. Plenty space in the heart for each. I am clear that a dog is not a human but love is love and it is so painful to lose one you love. I am with you in spirit and prayer has been given.

Know exactly how you feel. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but it was the right thing. That was 2018, and not a day goes by that I don't fondly recall our furry family member. You'll get through it and, in time, you'll recall all the great memories and enjoy going through your old pictures.

I’ve had to make this decision a few times in my life. It’s a horrible day no doubt. I think it’s important to realize that their lives have always been in our hands and they trust us completely to do the right thing for them. Even when it’s time to end their suffering.
For believers, it’s similar to our relationship with God. We should trust Him to always do what’s best for us.

Without any doubt I will ask our lord in Heaven to help you and your family through one of the hardest decisions you must make to end your best friends suffering.
I wish that I knew the words to say that would help you and your family through a time like this, but I don't, and I don't know if there are any words that will help ease the pain in our hearts when we have to part with our most loyal and loving animal friends.
I can say that even knowing the pain I've suffered through since losing my most loyal loving best friend two years ago, I'm very thankful for every day of the 14 years I had with him, and I know how lucky I was to have had him in my everyday life for as long as I did and loving him every day he was with me and my wife and he never not once turned his back on us, and he loved us as much as we loved him. If you and your family have had that with your family Dog, you were blessed, and it's OK to do the right thing for him if he is suffering...

growing up. Easy to get attached to them, and mourn when they die. But, I believe the Humane thing to do IS to put them down when it is obvious they are suffering. The opposite is painful to watch.

Very sorry for your loss. I had to make the same choice several years ago.
Misty was a Weimaraner. I used to send her to the bus stop with my kids. She was a cream puff, but strangers didn’t know that. They just knew she was fairly big and had a deep, loud bark. Every afternoon, she would meet the kids at the bus stop after school.
Hang in there. You will soon have fond memories of your dog!

I had to put down a horse named Molly this past week that we have had for long time(she was 20+), after almost 5k in vet bills.
It’s always tough when you love them so rmuch.

Man. So sorry to her that. I lost two 18 year olds in consecutive years. My girl even had a Clemson jersey she wore on game day. The pain is real and it never goes away. We just learn to live with it better. I honestly believe dogs were put here to teach us how to love. They love unconditionally all the time. Prayers for you and your family. So sorry to hear this. I know all to well the pain involved with this decision. I too had to do the same for my beloved Akita, Tank 7/22/23 and lost his mate Tasha 11/18/24. Unless you are a dog lover, you really can't understand just how much joy and love they bring to your lives. My thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort are with you and your family.
