Not living in SC, I know nothing really about him. Other than being a Black Republican from a Red State, what does he offer?

The reason you haven't heard much about him is that he kept his head down, avoided the spotlight, and got the job done for constituents. Boot-strap story, which keeps him grounded. I have a buddy in D.C. who's worked with him on a few justice-related projects, and confirms he's a genuinely good guy.

Tim Scott - fan of mail-in balloting (Aug. 2020)
Jul 27, 2023, 7:37 PM
|
|
Tim Scott is a fan of mail-in balloting.
C&P from a The Hill article - August 25, 2020.
“Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who delivered the final speech of night one of the Republican National Convention, predicts mail-in ballots will work “just fine,” despite concerns raised by President Trump that mail-in balloting will open the door to election fraud. Scott, in an interview with NBC News’s “Today,” said that in contrast to the president, he has “a lot of confidence in our electoral process.” Scott told host Savannah Guthrie that he’s “confident that we will have fair elections across this country.” “This process of mail-in ballots will work out just fine,” he said.”
Sorry sports fans, but unless he disavows that previous stance, then he’s DQ’d himself as a legit POTUS candidate from the Republican side.

Kind of weird that SC has two non married US Senators that promote family values. Maybe they like their cats?

For those that believe in data, it suggests there’s some validity to your statement.
But if data can be denied, then one can believe whatever the F they want …. Or more likely whatever someone tells them on the Internet!?!

Data shows that traditional families with two parents are better for children.
However in many other instances, many people ignore or deny the data and science on other subjects because it doesn’t fit their political narrative.

You guys are obsessed with Trump. I think Trump has had some pretty bad morals at times. Pales in comparison to decades of selling national secrets to our communist enemies. No, I’m not grading sins. I’m saying it pales in comparison to damage to the security of the country.

Yes, he has values. How's that stacking up against the current GOP front runner who hammers pron stars while his 3rd wife is tending to the birth of his 5th bairn (and twice indicted)? Asking for the "Christian Conservatives".

I e seen him in action. I contacted home a couple years ago asking him to help a young black couple in our church with a situation they found themselves in. Let’s just say they are great people and weee deserving of Scott’s time. He responded immediately and got their issue taken care of. Tim Scott is real!

Please don't come in here with the tired trope that South Carolinians are a bunch of racists. While it may be true for some, collectively we/they did elect a Sikh governor and a black Senator, both of whom are relatively popular with constituents.

Yeah - everyone goes into a private voting booth and votes for a senator to make themselves feel like they're not a racist. Silly
As a party, the Dems are the ones that try to interject race (and other immutable characteristics) into public policy.

No, but Republicans do like to parade Tim Scott around as an example of how inclusive they are. This is not a reflection on him, but he is the Senate representation of, "I can't be racist, cuz ah have black friends. Derp derp derp."
I'll support Tim Scott if another African-American in the Senate endorses him.

You said blacks would vote for Scott and whites would not. I can’t be any more clear. I said white republicans would absolutely vote for Scott and most black voters will NOT vote for Scott. It was white folk that voted him into the senate, not black democrats. If a red state like SC will send him to the senate it seems to kill the racist narrative does it not?

Of course black republicans would vote for him!! Black democrats (90 plus % would never step off the democrat plantation and vote for him. Black and white republicans would gladly vote for Scott if he were the nominee. All of us “racist” white republicans sent him to the senate. You don’t think we would send him to the White House if he were the nominee? Of course we would. I have already voted for the man each time he ran for senate.

It seems race has to always be a part of it for Dems. According to the head of the Dem party, Scott 'ain't black'. Race is just not that important, but the Dems use it like a tool to divide the country. Racism can never die, there's too much power and money in the idea.
