When he mentioned the inexperience at RB and WR? I think he's feeling good about the defense, but just doesn't have the on field results to justify his confidence.

Must have been intimidating playing in that atmosphere.
I think you can look at the schedule from last year to see how Clemson plays on the road. This gives me a little hope.
Louisvile- 20-17 Miami 58-0 NC State 56-41 (this was a heck of a game) Syracuse 37-27 South Carolina 37-32
Now out of all of those games, where do all of the confidence come from that Auburn will be blown out? I believe Clemson wins the game but I just don't see a blow out.

I agree with you AThomas, there is a lot of young players on both teams with nobody knowing exactly how they will play in their first college game, especially with ours on the road. Pumped noise in an empty stadium isn't nothing compared to 90k screaming fans that don't like you at all coming in their stadium to try and beat them. Even experience guys can be overwhelmed by that kind of noise. But I do feel we win by 10!!!

It is game one on the road vs a talented team. Hope you are correct.

We will be ok if our secondary doesn't get on the bus in the 3rd qtr. I remember that happened last yr. against some less than stellar opponents - NC State, Syracuse, USC. Blown coverages & poor tackling won't work @ Auburn.

For those of us in "the know"... I can't imagine ever reading, "That leaves Chris Register (14 snaps), Richard Yeargin (147 snaps), Clelin Ferrell (0 snaps) and Christian Wilkins (who also plays tackle) to carry the load."
Most teams would kill to have those four young men as 1s on their depth chart. I hope we smash them in every facet of the game, put the doubt to rest for good.

On paper, Auburn and FSU will be the two most talented teams Clemson will face in the regular season...Auburn played everyone tough last season, including Bama, and will likely have a better team this year.

The last time we played in Auburn it was quiet in the first half. Only after the steel curtain gave up three before half did it get noisy. The second half start looked like the orange bowl. It should have never been close, but this time it won't be. We have to much fire power and our defense will be good for a few stops.
