is what would be best for Clemson for a couple of reasons. One, if Bama looses to both Vandy and S.C., they are out of the Playoffs. Two, if S.C. has beaten Bama when we play them, it makes it a better win for the Tigers, when the playoff committee is looking at teams to be in the 12.

If Vandy and USCe beat Bama then beating Bama has no more value than beating any D2 team.
Maybe that's wrong, it don't matter, I'll never pull for USCe against any other southern team. UM, ND, OSU, USCw or Penn State, maybe. Alabama? Never in this lifetime.

Both your points are wrong. Bama losing this game doesn’t knock them out unless they lose at least 1 more.
The chickens winning today doesn’t do a thing for us. They are still no more than a 6-win team by the time they get to our game. The “powers that be” aren’t going to say “they suck but they beat Bama”. Well I take that back they probably will say that; what they won’t say is “well Clemson beat the sucky team that beat Bama”.
