If they could get him or Bryce Lindsay from James Madison that would really be a good final piece of the puzzle. Both over 40 percent from 3. Link:

Not being dramatic and overreacting, not sure how fans will react to a new team

…. every year. Guess a paycheck and a uniform make them “Clemson”. Seems the identity of college sports is eroding or at best evolving into a professional sports model that is drastically different.
I wonder how the economic value of this new model will compare to the old model.

I don't think you're overreacting. One reason

I've never really been a fan of pro ball is the carousel of players. I still pull/root/cheer for Clemson, but the fervent, blood boiling need to see every play of every game has waned. I think a lot of people are like that, which means they're still a lot of money going into college sports. And it's always, always about money.

I think people are fine with one or two transfers every couple of years

But an almost entirely new team every year is not sustainable I don’t think for fan interest.
We embraced Girard, we embraced Lahkin and Zachary. But will we continue to embrace this as it keeps happening each year? And what about the year where the transfers don’t pan out as well? (It’s bound to happen)

Because it is going to continue. The New World Order is here. We're not going back.

Why does he have to embrace it?

Constant transfers with untold money every single year can definitely reach a point where it slows down

For me, it's more about how the transfers fit in once they get here. We've been fortunate to get guys like JG3, Vik, JZ, etc who have seemed to really buy in to the culture and embrace the community. As long as that's the case, I've got no issues. But if it starts becoming too transactional and it's clear the players don't really care at all about Clemson, then that does really dampen the experience for me.

This year's turnover doesn't seem to follow our pattern. With the covid year(s) we ended up with 8 who were either seniors or grad students compared to the four who portaled out.
I think at this point we have 5 freshmen (2 being redshirts), 4 seniors, and 2 juniors for the upcoming season, so our roster may balance back out.

I posted something yesterday he’ll be a great fit for Clemson. I think we need one more good guard is that what’s left?

we need more than 1 good guard, you dont want to rely on freshman that have never played at the college level. we need 2 more guards in this portal class. we need a scorer in a big way .

I believe you could make the case that we need two more guards given what we have lost (graduation and transfer portal). Specifically, here are the metrics of our guards from last year:
Player (Eff. Meas.) / Dunks (Total, Pct) / At-the-Rim (Total, Pct, Assisted) / Other 2-Pt (Tot, Pct, Ast'ed) / 3-Pt Jumpers (Tot, Pct, Ast'ed)
* Note: Efficiency measure computes the points over replacement per adjusted game at that usage. Higher measures indicate greater efficiency.
Clemson (Outgoing): Chase Hunter (4.3): 12-13 (92.3%) / 60-93 (64.5%), 16.7% Ast'ed / 50-116 (43.1%), 18.0% Ast'ed / 77-189 (40.7%), 54.5% Ast'ed Jaeden Zackery (3.3): 0-0 (0%) / 73-127 (57.5%), 15.1% Ast'ed / 27-70 (38.6%), 29.6% Ast'ed / 41-114 (36.0%), 95.1% Ast'ed Jake Heidbreder (1.2): 0-0 (0%) / 14-28 (50.0%), 42.9% Ast'ed / 2-6 (33.3%), 0.0% Ast'ed / 28-75 (37.3%), 100% Ast'ed Del Jones (0.5): 0-2 (0%) / 19-38 (50.0%), 0.0% Ast'ed / 15-36 (41.7%), 13.3% Ast'ed / 14-45 (31.1%), 71.4% Ast'ed Asa Thomas (0.2): 0-0 (0%) / 0-2 (0.0%), 0% Ast'ed / 0-0 (0.0%), 0.0% Ast'ed / 4-8 (50.0%), 75.0% Ast'ed Total Efficiency Outgoing: 9.5
Clemson (Incoming): Efrem Johnson (1.2): 3-4 (75%) / 22-41 (53.7%), 45.5% Ast'ed / 40-111 (36.0%), 47.5% Ast'ed / 47-148 (31.8%), 89.4% Ast'ed Total Efficiency Incoming: 1.2
Potential (Incoming): Bryce Lindsay (3.7): 1-1 (100%) / 38-62 (61.3%), 21.1% Ast'ed / 14-33 (42.4%), 21.4% Ast'ed / 84-205 (41.0%), 77.4% Ast'ed Adam Miller (2.3): 3-4 (75%) / 24-44 (54.5%), 41.7% Ast'ed / 20-48 (41.7%), 20.0% Ast'ed / 57-133 (42.9%), 77.2% Ast'ed
Summary: 1) Obviously, it is hard to replace the impact of Chase Hunter particularly given his ability to make shots using his own playmaking ability (note the low percentage of shots that was assisted on to make). 2) Lindsay would be a nearly similar comparison to Hunter though the level of competition was not the same between the two players. 3) While Dillon Hunter is not shown above, he had an efficiency measure of 1.5 (similar to Chase's 2022 year). If he progresses similar to Chase for that following year, then it would help cushion the difference in efficiency to some degree from our guards from last year to next year.
The nice thing is that we have addressed the bigs. While it remains to be seen how the guards will shake out, I look forward to seeing what our staff does.
