For generations they have looked down on us. They considered us 2nd tier and they have a huge series record domination over us. Even recently, they have beaten us 5 of the last 6 games. We OWE them big time. It's the biggest demon our program has to exercise.
They are the biggest rival we have that we don't play. Clemson and UGA is more than just a good matchup. It's an important thing that needs to be done.

How have you concluded that generations of UGA fans have looked down on Clemson? You know who Georgia fans talk about and don't like much? Florida, Auburn, GA Tech, and more recently Alabama. As much as Dawg fans would like to beat Clemson, particularly at this point in Clemson's success, UGA fans are not nearly as concerned with Clemson as Clemson fans seem to be with UGA.

I kinda believe that the T-Net Mods reset that mutts pulse every time that it makes a post, and that is bc it seems to me like it's pulse never gets below 72%. I personally TD it with every sour note that comes within its post!!!!!!!

And it's double good for our program if we win bc Clemson recruits Georgia really hard, and we have brought some of their best and most talented recruits to Clemson. Go Tigers Beat UGA!!!

UGA makes more sense than Wyoming. I wish we could straighten out the ND position. WRT football, are they in or out?! Hope somebody is working on long-term ACC/ND relationship. Fish or cut bait.

Really? The ACC will not anything about Notre Dame, period because playing The Irish even every few years is far better than not playing at all. The truth is being tied to the schedule hurts them far more than it does the ACC. Can you imagine changing a game against Michigan to a game against Georgia Tech?

This is not accurate. Having scheduling flexibility keeps them out of the ACC for football. ND has all the money they need from a wealthy alumni donor base. The NBC contract barely covers what they are a missing for not getting a full share of the ACC money. Essentially, that is a wash.

Well back in "the day", with the distance being just slightly over a one hour drive between the two campuses, they used to say Clemson was closer to Georgia than any SEC team and Georgia was closer to Clemson than any ACC team. Interestingly enough, that still holds true.

I get it...we had no choice but to schedule this game when you look at next year's OOC schedule. With that said, I hate neutral site games and I would like to play a different opponent, seeing as we have five games on the schedule with Georgia already.

UP84 - I remember the days of my youth and the excitement (and national attention) That Clemson and Georgia games received. Based on how close they are ... two different conferences ... quality match-ups - I would like to see this game happen more often.
Bottom line, both teams needed to toughen up their 2021 schedule in order to be more competitive ... in hopes of making the playoffs.

The rivalry was relevant from 1977 to 1991 (series was even 6-6-1). Then the games became less regular with UGA winning 5 of the last 6 between 1994-2014. The 2021 game presents opportunities for both programs. A Clemson win surely helps their SOS. A UGA win helps them as a possible 2nd SEC team in the CFP if they finish with a good record w/o an SEC Title. Both teams often go after the same recruits too.

I believe that our starter in 2021 will be DJ, and that is bc DJ will be our better passing QB than Taisun Phommachanh, or the coaches may decide to play them both after TL leaves for the NFL about the same as they done with KB2 and TL16 in TL's first season....
