Braves fans, thoughts on Bryce Elder.

I realize injuries have forced Snits hand, but Elder SHOULD NOT be part of the five-man starting rotation. While there have been some bright spots, he's had far more struggles than successes.

I think it is clear now that last year was kind of lightening in a bottle. He does not have big league stuff in my opinion. It is what it is.

Since the All Star break teams have figured he doesn’t have any plus strike out pitch. He’s a ground ball pitcher with a tendency to leave a cookie over the plate if you work the count deep. At this point the 5th spot in the rotation will be a revolving door of guys up and down from Gwinnett, until one of them sticks, or AA finds a starter on the market he can get without sending one of the top prospects for.

Yeah he needs to be dropped down...I'd rather bring someone else up or make a trade. He throws BP every week.

He needs to be selling shoes at Lenox Square or something. Maybe the Braves could trade him for a security guard. I hate it for him.

He's a former mlb all star. You gotta give him a few more chances to show that potential and see if he can elevate. He was pivotal in the last WS championship

I think they are getting him confused with Anderson , he was huge for us in that run… and elder was great the first half of last year but the show is about adjustments… bc the hitters will adjust to you with more scouting reports and tendencies you show, and he just never has unfortunately. He has the occasionally good outing but way too inconsistent.

I rarely watch baseball, but I did have the game on last night. I was pretty surprised about how bad Elder was. Don't know anything about him other than what I heard from the announcers, but he did not belong on that mound.

Waldrip is probably the biggest prospect but I think they'll let him bake in the minors to get ready. Braves have a front loaded schedule with easier teams after the All-Star break. May see him get a spot start around August. I see Dodd or AJ Smith-Sharver getting the call. They've both been here before and it will be theirs's to lose. This rotation would have been killer has Strider not gone down. Complaining about your 5 is a good place to be as an organization.
