ACC in tournament so far is terrible

6

Dec 27, 2024, 7:16 AM

I have to admit I normally pull the conference alignment in bowl games but was conflicted watching Pitt. Sure wasn’t sad to see that coach lose. Now however I’d like to see us start winning some games for a change. Embarrassing to give this fuel to the talking heads.

0-4 so far in post season play.. a lot of the games were not even close.

The ACC is a weak conference.

you don't need bowl games or talking heads to see how bad the ACC is....

that's why I've always said that Clemson football has a floor in the ACC of 7-5/8-4. Until Clemson gets out of this conference the barometer of "success" needs to be judged by what we do vs OUT OF CONFERENCE P4/5 teams w/ a pulse. Being good in this conference means nothing.......it just insulates us and gives Dabo/fans a false perception of where the program really is.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yet again, the SOS over the last 4 seasons was 17.75

Dec 27, 2024, 10:39 AM

And we’re 6th or 7th in wins, averaging 10 wins a year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and YET AGAIN.......

1

Dec 27, 2024, 1:45 PM

we are 9-13 vs Power 4/5 opponents w/ 8 or more wins the last 4 years.............and 1-7 in the OOC P4/5 teams with that criteria.

you must handicap this pathetic conference that we're in b/c beating up on the sisters of the poor is not something that ELITE teams should brag about.............it's being ELITE and beating ELITE...................something we HAVE NOT DONE IN FOUR SEASONS.

The denial of several obvious facts on TNET is to an epidemic of denial.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Whos denying what??***

We are measured the same way everyone else is.

Dec 27, 2024, 6:10 PM [ in reply to and YET AGAIN....... ]

That’s wins in conjunction with SOS.

Our schedule was better than the vast majority of college football, in spite of who we played as a whole. It’s already factored in. It’s baffling how you just can’t grasp this simple logic.

Again, we’ve been an elite QB away before this season, and a run defense away this season - from being among the “elite”.

As it is, being one of two teams with 9+ wins over 14 seasons, again, measured relative to everyone, and being 6th or 7th in the entire country in wins during our “non-elite” years is close. We also have a nation-strong streak for consecutive years with a post season win. Not sure right off hand and don’t feel like looking it up, but yet again it’s one of the best streaks in the country.

I’ve already agreee and of course we all know, we need to do better against the best like Texas and UGA, and not let losers like Louisville and USuC run the ball on us, and if we do that we’re gonna be where we want to be. Of course we haven’t been on top, but we’re close - not the ridiculous gloom and doom spewed by some here.

The offense has a chance to achieve elite level next season, and if we shore up the run defense then we can achieve elite. We’re not where we want to be, but we’re still one of the better programs in the country.

So yeah, we have both stated some facts, but my facts show us in our true position and they take into and therefore trump your facts. Just simple logic my man.

Hopefully this can sink in once and for all. Take care.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL......how do your facts "trump" my facts........

Dec 27, 2024, 7:13 PM

Nobody is measured by how many High School teams they beat.

They are measured and judged by "good wins" against adequate to elite teams................WE ARE 9-13 against adequate-elite teams.................and 1-7 vs OOC P4/5 adequate-elite teams over the course of the last 4 seasons........It's very simple and I'm not quite sure what you don't grasp about those FACTS. Winning this meaningless conference means close to nothing.

If Dabo embraces all resources of talent acquisition and stops screwin' up the hires when the good ones leave then yeah (ie streeter & Goodwin)......we have a shot to return to elite, but until then we WON'T. Dabo is the reason we made it to the mountain top and his stubbornness to embrace the new era of CFB has caused us to FALL from the mountain top............it's an easy fix if he's willing to do it. The recent portal acquisitions give me a glimmer of hope that he might just be close to embracing it............need more though.

maybe you understood it this time.......we'll see.

Mute the tv and it won't bother you.

Frankly, the ACC is a dumpster fire this season. I don't need a talking head to tell me that.

I'm concerned the ACC will lose the automatic bid to the playoffs if the lack of success continues. The Ga Tech fumble against UGA and us blowing the USuck game really stand out this season as missed opportunities. It seems like every season there is the usual embarrassing losses to the likes of Richmond, James Madison, UNC Charlotte or East Carolina by the NC schools or Va Tech and you have the recipe for a conference everyone makes fun of.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"YOU CANT WIN EVERY GAME"

Dec 27, 2024, 6:13 PM

Well, if your in the ACC and claim to be a quality program, yes you are expected to win every confrence game.
