Just an update of sorts. About 5 pm yesterday (and this morning) I reached out to Coach Swinney about the report of Goodwin moving on, and he told me that he was solely focused on roster retention and that there was nothing to discuss regarding staff, that he was still in the process of evaluating things. I appreciate him answering me.
Now, I am not totally dismissing that report. It could be that Swinney has advised people to look for jobs and this is part of that. I do believe, as I've said, that changes are coming (and Goodwin might not be the only one). Swinney simply hasn't made his move yet.
I guess we will see how it all works out.

Think that this off season isn't any different than any of the rest. T-Net is reaching for anything to write about, and this article falls right in with any of the others this time of the year and maybe more so at this time with the basketball team being nonexistent for such a long period in between games.
Anybody that keeps a steady check on what news T-Net has to report, we all know as well as David knows that Dabo isn't going to talk about anything that ha hasn't locked in as far as firing or hiring any of his staff. This article fits right in with having nothing to say other than generated nothing news. They have to keep their clicks coming in to keep their advertisers happy...

Another website suggests it is not a matter of if but rather when a new DC is hired. However, I pointed out we still have a DC. It seems premature to talk about a new one when we have a DC.

He said the same thing when replacing Streeter and Austin. He fired Streeter mid January. I truly believe Swinney wanted to wait til after the portal closed and he knows what is going on withhos team before letting Wes go. I have zero doubt that Wes will be in OK in the next few wks.

We had a regional manager once that got a reputation for firing plant managers over breakfast. We were great friends and I knew my position was solid but one day he and the HR manager said something about grabbing breakfast the next morning. I declined and jokingly told them why, knowing my job wasn’t at risk. He just laughed and said when he is firing someone he doesn’t invite HR. 😂😂😂

For the majority of the key pieces on defense to comeback and adding the portal DE, I would think a better plan is in place on the defensive staff and DC. Secondary coach needs to get it together too with how much Terrell holds and grabs.

I think Dabo, like Graham Neff, will tell folks most of the time that he evaluates every coach at the end of the year (season). I think it is a way to schedule each coach without them knowing exactly what they are going to talk about. I am guessing after a bad year (or years) they may have an inkling something is coming, but there is no question in my mind that Dabo will do it professionally.
When I was a Marine Corps officer and wrote fitness reports on all of my men, I never wrote a bad one unless I had counseled the Marine at least 3 times during the year telling them what they needed to work on. I still had some that were shocked, including a Gunnery Sergeant whose dog or daughter needed something about every afternoon. It was funny though, that each day when I left the base his car was parked at Rose's Cantina, in Beaufort.

My guess is everyone not named Reed, Rumph, and Eason will be coaching elsewhere in 2025.
Conn is just a guy, Goodwin is just a guy. The other three are elite coaches and recruiters, they will be retained.
