If Dabo even mentions Jeff Scott as a possible OC...

then Dabo should be fired immediately. Is TDP still involved in the athletic department? His "national searches" usually do not go very far... and Dabo learned from him.
Dabo kept an underqualified Napier around in the early days - giving Scott a chance seems EXACTLY like the kind of thing he would do again.

and I think giving an inexperienced coach his shot at OC would be a tragic mistake. Nothing against Scott - just the concept.

Dabo should never make decisions based just on concept. If we evaluate a 3 star guy, who is tough and fits our system over a 4 star guy then we go with the guy we evaluated higher.

I'm pretty sure Jeff Scott has been a college football coach longer. Jeff Scott also won a state title in his only season IN high school. I would not have a problem giving a shot to him.

I think he's gotta mention and possibly interview Scott, for morale sake. But I agree, we do a national search and find the best OC available on the planet.

pretty sure he could pick up where morris left off. Morris himself has said there are dozens of hundreds of guys just like him coaching in high school that just haven't had the opportunities.

will fail as a OC? Im not saying I support or against Scott becoming HC, but Dabo has shown he can make the right hires, and if he feels Jeff Scott is the right here then so be it.
JS has been studying the offense under Chad Morris for the past 2 seasons, he knows the terminology, and has called plays in HS when he was the Coach at blythewood (sp?) and went undefeated and won the state championship in his first year there

heard the same thing when Dabo hired Morris, TDP should fire Dabo for hiring a high school coach, he doesnt know what he is doing, blah blah blah..lightend up Francis

Just wondering.... What are your qualifications to make that statement? Have you coached at the D1 level? Do you know anything about Jeff Scott and his ability? Just wondering. Have you coached at the High School level or even Rec. Ball?
Do you have inside information that Jeff Scott cannot or should not be OC?
I'm not saying he should or shouldn't get the job, I'm just wondering your qualifications to say that he shouldn't get the job.

lol.... I am amazed at some of the stuff I read...... All it takes sometime is for a person to be given the chance, ie. Chad Morris.
I don't know whether Jeff Scott should or shouldn't get the job, but I think Dabo is pretty good at decision making about taking this program and sustaining this to the next level of competing year in and year out on the national stage.
I don't think Dabo is saying..... "let me see if I can go hire a guy who doesn't know what he is doing and will hurt the program..... "

around here. Bowden and Dabo (to a degree)have a philosophy of trying to recruit the very best skill athletes they can and hope that raw talent is better than the opponent. The philosophy is very short on player development and lacking in recruiting both lines of scrimmage. I do like the fact that Morris is "Fire and Brimstone", and that he is not trying to be the players' best friend!!!! Hopefully, the next OC is tough and intense. We will see in the coming days.
