and I have followed the 3 major Clemson sports for 65 years. As a freshman and soph. at Clemson, I attended every home basketball game in the old field house and sat directly behind the Clemson bench for those 2 years. My Jr and Sr. years, I attended about half the games. Devoted more time to studying.

So, I am not a Johnny-come-lately critic of the men's BB program or coach Brownell. The only coach and team I ever thought was good was when Rick Barnes was coach. I have always thought Clemson basketball pretty much was never better than mediocre in the ACC. I have always wanted it to be better.

When Brownell was hired, I thought he was a good hire and that Clemson basketball would improve. After 4 years of Brownell, I knew he had reached his peak and would never take us to the promised land of ACC competitiveness. I called for his dismissal after year 5 and I am still calling for his dismissal 9 years later.

At the rate he is getting contract extensions, and at my age, I don't think I will live long enough to see Clemson BB evolve to being consistently among the top teams in the ACC. A #### shame.

If BB wins one NCAA or NIT tournament game, he will get an extension. We are stuck at always having just a mediocre men's basketball team.

I'm class of 1952. I've given up on ever having a hot BB team. I've waited sooooo long! Clemso's AD's have never cared about BB.

Getting a new coach does not equate to better teams. We had good teams a few times during the last 40 years but not consistently because we simple cannot recruit enough top players year after year. The ability of a coach to recruit far out weighs his ability to coach and we are simply not a "destination" for 4 and 5 star players.
