demonstrated a willingness to 1) use the portal to obtain quality players and 2) use NIL to retain quality players.
I don't know about the rest of you, but this sort of thing is why I'm so bullish on the direction he's taking this program.

Agree, Dabo didn't change he just found players who fit at Clemson. No one said we weren't giving our players money. Any talk of him 'learning,' or 'relaizing,' about the NIL is fabricated or imagined.
Now we hear talk of big salaries and see him find a couple decent transfers and claim we were right all along and Dabo finally listed to us! That's a laugh. The vast majority of Tiger Fans were silent.

I figure he can find a way to win in both the portal and NIL if he so chooses.
But I wonder if sometimes he thinks of opting out like Saban did. I know I would be thinking that way. Larranaga's comments upon his retirement from Miami really resonated.

Imagine if we had started this a year or so sooner what this year's team might have accomplished... But yes, I'm glad to see him catching up with the times and look forward to another big announcement of a new DC.

I don't believe I said anything in my comment about a "wasted year." Those are your words, not mine. My speculation was just wondering if a little added depth might have prevented one of our losses and perhaps we would have had a bye in the first round and playing in the QF this weekend.
Sadly, we will never know...
