Records: Clemson vs SEC teams

Clemson has a losing record against every SEC school except for South Carolina. (Well, and Mississippi State, which it's 1-1-1 against). Overall, the Tigers are 112-160-14 against the SEC. Do you still want to line up against Alabama, Auburn and Georgia every year? Check it out:
CLEMSON vs.:
Alabama (3-12 remember what happened last time?) Auburn (11-33) Florida (3-9) Georgia (17-41) Kentucky (5-8, thanks to a Music City Bowl win this year) LSU (0-2) Mississippi (0-2) Mississippi State (1-1-1) South Carolina (65-38) Tennessee (6-11) Vanderbilt (1-3)
Still think it's a good idea?

I was going to say the same thing. We have losing records to most SEC programs, but we still get that fat SEC check every year.

Yep. Think of what the records would be with SEC Money

coming in versus ACC money. Our record isn't good now, but think how much better it will get when we head on over and leave this dry pit of crap that Swoffy has created.

with the exception if georgia, most of those losses to the SEC occured when the helmets had no facemasks.

deacdes. If we joined the SEC, in our first decade there is no doubt we'd have winning records against Ole Miss, Vandy, UK, Miss St, USeC, and Tennessee (with the situation they are now in with the NCAA).

Clemson is better now, and has been better for a while than

teams like Ole ####, Vandy, Kentucky, and Mississippi State.
We've obviously been South Carolina's DADDIES for 100+ years.
I fully expect us to beat Auburn this year, and we should have beaten then last year when we had them on the ropes.
We'll be playing UGA 2013 and 2014 (Granted they have been better than us in the head-to-head rivarly though all time).
Last time we played Tennessee we kicked their ###, and they aren't very good these days.
If you're scared of the SEC, then good for you. Me? Not so much...
Go Tigers.

It's freaking football man! How does a program get better if you don't play anybody?! I'm not saying all of the teams in the ACC are trash , but come on! No need to be cowards. We're talking smash mouth football and a butt load of money!

Clemson was smaller than some mid-major schools back then

in comparison to today. You have to remember that Clemson did most of it's substantial growth during the 1970's. Clemson's grad school opened in 1982 I think.
Clemson was also generally a non-conference home game for most of those SEC schools (away games for us), and was again smaller than some mid-major universities are today. It did make a difference.

a long time ago for the most part. The only time I remember playing Tennessee we won. Most of these Auburn, Alabama games and most of the others took place before 1970, so really its a mute point to make.

I think what is more relevant is what is our record against SEC teams, while those teams are members of the SEC. If we are so intent on building up SEC teams to be all that, those teams are only all that while a member of the all-mighty SEC. We assume that being in the SEC makes teams more competitive, gives them a competitive advantage over other schools.....So, as a non-SEC team (arky, usce, etc) they would not count for/against our record vs SEC teams.
