We aren’t going to be in that group with any coach. Clemson fans ai t going to pony up that kind of money. ACC tv money, no billionaire jock sniffers, small alumni base prevent that.
Clemson is also facing a sentiment from mid-level donors of “ I ain’t paying any more than I currently pay”. If that means we go 7-5, I’ll enjoy the tailgate when I’m not hunting or playing golf.

The guy that put us in that group and dominated that group is now incapable of putting back in that group? Laughable! The guys like Lanning , Beamer , Cristobal and a longer list of coaches were saved by buying their roster. These clowns still aren’t successful with unlimited resources in front of them, why? Because they suck. Let’s see if Dabo wants to put the work back in and adjust to today’s players and game, if not , he’ll probably step aside or go down with the ship.He’s earned that much.

It helps to be in a talent rich state like Georgia, be the flagship football school, and willing to spend. Couple that with a coach who knows what he’s doing and yeah they’ll always be good.
Schools in other states without the in state talent pool def have to work harder ie Clemson or Ole Miss.
Agree with the other poster though that said UGA’s never lacked talent.

get was the Joe Terranova or Alan Wallace newsletters. Georgia has always had Top 5 talent. Always, as far back as I can remember. I used to rib my UGA buddies about being the most underachieving team in the country. Loaded with talent but not winning nat'l titles. Obviously they've turned that around.
Yes, they have a great recruiting advantage. GA produces the most 4 and 5 star recruits, per capita, than any other state. And 90% of em grow up bleeding red & black.

They have been loaded for years. Honestly cannot remember them not being loaded.
I do not believe Clemson has to break the bank every season. Just find a few diamonds in the rough on the cheap, purchase a few studs QB, RB… and recruit at least as well as we have in the past minus the deflections we should at least be competitive. Do not think paying top dollar for every portal player we go after is a must.

The NIL payments already owed to culled players aren’t cancelled just because UGA chooses to cut an ‘employee’ loose.
So UGA pays for the culled / old portal players AND pays for the replacement / new portal players.
With a huge budget, UGA doesn’t worry about that waste. If UGA had a smaller budget, then the ‘culling’ expenses would be more carefully considered.
