Trump's rhetoric and behavior...in just a two month span...might end up costing our defense contractors hundreds of billions of dollars. Making a clear statement to not only are biggest and closest allies, but to the biggest purchasers of our defense industry's products...that you cannot trust us...may very well have cost L-M and Boeing access to many European (and Canadian) markets for years to come. It also might have created a stronger competitor in Europe if they collectively invest as they are indicating.
Could be a remarkable unforced error with enormous long-term implications to our defense industry. For nothing.

In lost sales, in the possibility that they’ll have to compete with a better capitalized (better than they previously were) European arms option? Meaning more investment or tighter margins for decades to come?

I don't see how any sane person awards the contract to Boeing at this point. Maybe split it with Lockheed as lead just to keep Boeing in business, but no way do they get the whole contract unless some orange f*cker has taken a bribe.
