F-47 indeed. "EU Slams the door on US in colossal defense plan"

https://www.politico.eu/article/eu-freeze-us-multi-billion-defense-plan-arm-makers/
Trump's rhetoric and behavior...in just a two month span...might end up costing our defense contractors hundreds of billions of dollars. Making a clear statement to not only are biggest and closest allies, but to the biggest purchasers of our defense industry's products...that you cannot trust us...may very well have cost L-M and Boeing access to many European (and Canadian) markets for years to come. It also might have created a stronger competitor in Europe if they collectively invest as they are indicating.
Could be a remarkable unforced error with enormous long-term implications to our defense industry. For nothing.

I don't mind them being militarized if they are our allies and they are buying from us. That sounds like the perfect scenario.

Anyone who would have this much bravado over the arms dealers getting shut out really doesn't understand what a stupid move this is politically for Trump.
If it's hard, imagine a world where a historically Republican-favoring industry swings the other way in the next election.

Even if they started the process tomorrow they wouldn't take possession of anything for many years after Trumps gone so they're morons if they make a long term national defense decision based on who is POTUS today. Of course most of Europe is run by morons so this could definitely be the case.

I can't disagree with that. The Europeans forgot along the way that it was their asz's they need to save. I think Trump is unstable and dangerous, but he should get credit where it's due. His treatment of the EU has been good for them and us.

No one thinks Europe is better off without an aligned USA. But without the US being a trustworthy ally, they are making sure they are safe. They are leaving us because we already left them.
You act like we are being good allies and they are flipping us the bird.
They are ramping up their military spending because they don’t trust us.

The EU better sh!+ or get off the pot because their 5 to 10 year plan to ready NATO without the U.S. needs to be closer to 5 years. There's not going to be another Democrat president to keep bailing them out financially for at least the next 12 or so years.

Do you even know what you’re arguing? Or do you perceive that SOMEBODY said SOMETHING about your dear pappy and darn it, you ain’t taken’ it! You’ll fight the whole bar! You don’t care!
So, it is urgent that they be able to defend themselves within five years from…who? Russia? Us? I’m just trying to understand because some of your MAGA friends scoff at the idea that our misunderstood Russian friends only want Ukraine and then they’ll stop. Do you see it differently, and if so, how?
You understand that the point of this thread is that Europe IS waking up to the fact that they cannot trust us? And the fact that the World’s Greatest Dealmaker ensured that they started a massive buildup of their military while also not trusting us enough to include our companies in their plans? You understand the potential costs to those companies? In lost sales, in the possibility that they’ll have to compete with a better capitalized (better than they previously were) European arms option? Meaning more investment or tighter margins for decades to come?
I’m not saying that WILL happen. I’m saying that Trump has created the perfect situation FOR it to happen. And he did it FOR NOTHING.

his term. That JD Vance...if he replaces Trump...would be different? Or are you assuming a Democrat will lead?
"Moron" would be someone who just says "Let's just stick it out with a guy that seems to prefer Russia over Europe...I'm sure the next guy will align back with us and this will never happen again." All while Russia is knocking at your door. THAT would be moronic.

You can't be serious. Have you seen how trump has put in charge of departments? LOL.
Europeans lead far better lives than Americans by any metric you want to talk about. Life expectancy, happiness, health, education, and healthcare.....
Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck, many without healthcare or savings - and about to lose Medicaid and Social Security. We have the highest infant mortality rate and healthcare costs in the "free" world. I use that term loosely for the USA. I could go on and on.
The morons are the maga idiots and the whole trump admin. I mean, heck, we have a Fox Entertainment host heading the Department of Defense. It's like a bad South Park episode. America is the laughingstock of the world.

Yeah, I'll believe that the EU is serious when they commit the Euros. I think we are going to seee a massive backlash in their populations . See, they do not want to give up that free stuff( not really free).
Well, the Europeans at least know how to riot/protest.

I don't see how any sane person awards the contract to Boeing at this point. Maybe split it with Lockheed as lead just to keep Boeing in business, but no way do they get the whole contract unless some orange f*cker has taken a bribe. This idiot is intent on taking us back to the 1890s when we had large tariffs, but were the sixth or seventh major power in the world. I guess that as long as we fall below Russia, he has completed his purpose.

Just so I don’t waste my time throwing pearls before swine, can you specifically list the items designed and sold by US makers for which there is no alternative for our former allies?
I’m not saying there aren’t any…I just want to see if you can list them.
