when cracks started to appear - last 2 weeks before the NCAAT things weren't right.
Getting paid a #### ton of $$$ to not show up with a lifeless team in tournament time.

He will not get urgent again until a couple of years before his new 6 year contract expires.

Who were you replacing a struggling Chase, a beat up Shieff, and an injured Dillon Hunter with?
Not exactly a roster full of Parade All-Americans available

The cupboard was left bare for him.
When he has more time to get his own guys here and create more depth, we’ll be in great shape.

Why is the roster poor? Who does the recruiting? Striper, it is more than Xs and Os and a recruiting. Even though Brad has never been a recruiter. It is about his personality and his lack of line great coaches to get into the heads of his players. You either have it or you don’t. Danny Ford and Dabo were born with it. You know yourself when those guys walk into a room everyone knows it. Unfortunately Brad dies not have that factor which makes you a great coach. Barnes has it. Callipari has it. Pitino has it.

We had one of those. He left for a better job.
Brad's no Hall of Famer, but he's a good coach. He's had 4 guys under him go on to be head coaches. He's landed top 100 players fairly regularly the last 6 years, including 1 this year, and quality transfers. Someone is doing some fairly good recruiting

I could swear I watched Brad on the sidelines, not on the courts. We had a great, great year so be happy.

You are wrong. If the players don't give effort or screw up, you bench them and let someone else try or you change the plan of attack. Stop the 3's and pound the ball inside - 13 points were more than embarrassing it is Brownelling!!!!

So let me understand what you're saying. The entire gameplan for McNeese was to take away the inside game by collapsing into the paint. They remove the high low Clemson used with great success all year. That left wide open 3's. The wide open shots didn't fall. What would have been your suggestion offensively to counter that? High low taken, 5 guys collapsing the paint, drives taken away. You shoot your way out.
Where I have an issue is not starting the press earlier since it was causing them so many issues. I chalk the first half up to bad shooting on solid shot selection based on what was given.

What do you think he should have done with 2 weeks left to go? After winning more games than any Clemson Basketball team. Beating the # 1 team in the country. Obviously Coach Brownell does not have a clue. Maybe He could start by performing a miracle and Healing Broken hands and other maladies. He could change the line up and let all the walk ons play and leave the starters on the bench! Maybe He could shoot the free throws for them .

I don’t think you understand how sports work and how coaching works.
Having a team that looks awake and like they wanted to win a basketball game would have made a big difference. I mean… put the #### walk-ons in there if that’s what it takes to create some energy.
And when your personnel changes…some good coaches actually come up with a game plan to utilize who they have. I know, I know. That’s asking way too much.

Why would any coach need a magic wand to motivate his players emotionally...

to play in the national tournament, the main goal for every college basketball team in America? It sure didn't look like McNeese State was lacking for motivation, as their less-talented players ran RINGS around our greatest team in history. Even if the shots aren't falling you can still play hard; you can crash the boards and get rebounds for second-chance shots in the paint.
Dude, spare me your "magic wand" crap. Just admit it - Brownell was more focused on better-dealing Clemson for a pay raise / extension than he was getting his team ready to face the competition ahead of him. Luavull and McNeese made us look foolish for LONG stretches in those ACCT and NCAAT games. There's no excuse or rationalization for that.

Perfectly stated.
No one needs a magic wand. We need a coach.
(But unfortunately we’re stuck for a while)

we saw in the ACCT and the NCAAT. It's not that he didn't fix everything, its that he didn't fix anything.
His new contact will not be Dan Hurley mike money. But then again BB's never won a natty.
Would you not agree that with his new contract we should expect deep runs in the ACC and at least one to two tourney wins on a somewhat regular basis?
