Seems like a great use case for a 3rd vehicle.

Could be good for runs to Home Depot and the dump. It’s going to be crazy loud and uncomfortable on the highway I’m sure and that 150 mile range makes it pretty impractical for much more than round town use. Biggest downside I see is no second motor/AWD option, because with that I could see the 4x4 community seriously embracing this thing.
The sheer amount of accessories they’re planning though makes it pretty cool (I like the SUV conversion kit) and it will be really interesting to see how people take to their DIY warranty repairs model.

Tricked out like a ####? Ohh yeah. All the fake rich people will have one.
And that's exactly what it is - a big golf cart.
Good call.

Building trades to be precise. This diy angle could be fun for him AND I like the limited range for shenanigan avoidance.

IMO that's a huge selling point for people on a budget.

When KIAs now are pushing well into mid-market pricing because they all come with push button start, etc. there's a relatively huge market segment that is getting priced out of something new. And the idea that you can replace the infotainment with device pairing is pretty effing brilliant.

The logic behind the manufacturing and business case is fantastic.

Every body panel is gray plastic. Colors can be done after the fact with available vinyl wraps that supposedly will be so easy on this car that they’re DIY.
1) body painting is one of the most expensive parts of building a car factory. Not needed here. 2) metal stamping is the other huge cost area, and the factories have to be huge because the machinery is so big. Again, not needed here and factory is smaller.
No touch screens or entertainment system in this —can be added after the fact. -infotainment systems are something like 70% of all car warranty claims. Again, not an issue here.
Every one rolls off the line identically configured. No production changes needed to accommodate different options.
Succeed or fail, it’s going to be an awesome manufacturing and marketing case study

It's the Model T Mach 2! You can have any color you like as long as it's grey.***

Sounds great for local contractors and fleets if can recharge overnight. Lot of people need affordable “in-town” transportation _ especially if two vehicle family where other vehicle has greater range.
I live in Clemson and rarely drive over 400 miles in a month. Most trips are less than 15 minutes. Anderson, Easley & Seneca all within range.
Always keeping an eye on Toyota’s plug in hybrid vehicles but this type vehicle is an interesting option. Beats the he!! out of road ready golf carts.

Yeah but its going to actually diminish the utility of the vehicle IMO

It’s an add-on pack, so it will likely take up bed space. It will also be heavy, so it’ll eat into payload, and the thing already has an 8 second 0-60 time with the standard battery pack. It’s going to be a slug with even more weight.
