Asking..who came uP with the idea of the HC's shaking hands after FB game?

Pretty stupid Imo since half the time the losing coach really doesn't want that task at all.

What say you?

GoTiGERS!

I think it had something to do with a the practice...

of showing of the hand to prove there was no weapon or malcontent between the two parties. You're the historian, Bill. Don't the men who sign peace treaties finish with a handshake?

As far as 'middle of the field,' it seem like a reasonable place to meet since both have equal distance to walk.

Bill, I apologize for all that bullchit. We both know it's a sign of good sportsmanship for a winner and a loser of a sports contest to meet after the event and shake hands.

Woody Hayes was a visionary. He tried to popularize the fist bump decades before it became cool. Unfortunately Bauman just wasn't paying attention.

Yea, sportsmanship sucks

I think it use to be an all & out duel at the 50 yard line but then Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton.
So, Jefferson ordered handshakes instead.

But, the old men tell me it's Obama's fault.

How many old men are in you at one time?

Next time the Y tells my kid's baseball team to line up and shake hands after losing the game, I'm gonna tell them to shove off!

Actually, it started with William Wallace of Scotland. It was his practice that after a battle he would find the other commander and cut off his hand. It first began after the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1492, it was a Thursday around 3 o'clock....was raining. He cut off the hand of King Chuck of Essex. After that everybody started doing it so it became a thing.
