But he’s not the problem. The O-Line and dropped balls are the problem. Yeah, he’s made a few bonehead plays, but he looks a lot better than anything I saw last year.

I don't expect my QB to have any bone head plays.

or have a selective memory. DW was good for one bone head INT per game, but they NEVER came in the clutch, so it wasn't that relevant. TL had his share as well.

If the defense could have stopped the inside pitch to the TE we win easily.

Yep couldn’t stop the shuffle pass. That’s why we lost.

Hell TL made some bone head plays against LSU in the national title game.

At least he got us to the Natty game. You’ll never see it again with the status quo.

The drop balls are largely his fault, in that he lacks touch on 90% of his passes (he did have the really nice ball that got dropped, but every receiver drops passes).
For blocking, they actually did his average time to throw. He had 4.7 seconds. That's 2 seconds longer than the average NFL QB gets. He keeps the ball too long. Our offensive line isn't great, but we've never had an elite offensive line (look how many of our linemen get picked up by the NFL each year). Our system demands a QB who can get the ball out quickly and roll the pocket.

Dropped balls are 100% the WRs fault. I am sure Dabo would agree.
No one blamed Brett Favre for throwing bullets.
Btw, 4.7 seconds? Lol, did you just make that up?

The line can't hold when he has no pocket awareness and slow decision making and release time and when he does try to scramble he's slow and clumsy. Receivers can't stay open long enough for his slow decision making and release time. It has thrown off the route/throw chemistry of the entire corp. Our Oline isn't great but it's not good enough when you have a qb with cement in their shoes and they don't get the ball out. It's not a coincidence the way the offense looked when Cade came into the game with GT still having more than half of their defensive starters on the field.

Cade is going to take the start in four or five games. I knew it when I saw the kid's film and my opinion has not changed. At the most DJ will last six games as starter.
Dabo is going to prove to everyone who has eyes that Cade is the better guy and will win tough games which DJ can not handle. It's coming, get over it.'

The o-line definitely prevented the offense from getting into a groove last year and Monday night. Also, I always wonder why the play calling seems to not trust DJ taking shots downfield. Maybe it's the o-line. All I've heard is how much better they'd be, but Monday night did not show that. On a positive, I do think o-line play can improve as long as they stay healthy.

Did you think that maybe if DJ could make a decison in 3 seconds, the WRs would be open and the OL wouldn't have to do the impossible?
