Did you just start watching it 3 years ago?
The Cotton Bowl is traditionally considered one of the upper echelon bowl games. But even if you consider it a step down, you still have never made it, so what does that say about you?
Yes, we won a bowl game. A prestigious one. This is the post season in college football.

Team gets half of payout and rest gets split among all ACC schools from all bowls. And first bowl ahead of cotton...you must be using coot logic in your statements. YOU won a bowl game and nothing more, Clemson won a BCS bowl game. Something SCar never has AND never will do.

If you're under 18 you might think that is all that matters. Anyone with more than a few years invested in following the sport knows that the Sugar, Rose, Orange, and Cotton are the bowls that matter in the big picture. Fiesta Bowl bought a seat at the big boy table at the beginning of the BCS era - time will tell if they remain relevant. Even Lord Spurrier used to mock lesser bowls I.e the famous can't spell Citrus Bowl without UT joke. Which, ironically, is now his greatest accomplishment at South Carolina. Perhaps you don't know that the Cap One bowl is, in fact, the former Citrus Bowl. Spurrier does - which is why he immediately points out it isn't as good as beating Clemson.

become a part of the Playoff System (along with the Peach Bowl which Clemson has a LONG history with). The Capital One Bowl has been left behind and will be until they get a new stadium built and Bowl contracts are renegotiated.

Coot, did you realize that the Cotton was a major bowl prior to BCS. Just like the Citrus bowl was a bottom bowl was the Tangerine Bowl that took the MAC champion.

Yes the cotton was huge in the 80s and 90s and now it isn't. So if you want to say it's no longer important to you go for it. Regardless my point remains the capital one is now bigger than the cotton.
