Saw a post on here other day about Jack Del Rio

He was down playing the capital riots and pointing out a lot worse happened to main stream america in the riots across the country. Then all of a sudden he got quiet. Even issued an apology, I think.
Well, well....news has broke. Jack Del Rio fined $100K for comments about Capitol riot by NFL.

NFL didn't fine him ...... his head coach did. Our Nations' capitol is a not place to exercise your freedom of speech .... although your employer sure can put a damper on it!

Yes. Insurrection on Jan 6 was pretty gross.
And the fine I do not agree with as well.

And his employer exercised their rights.
It will be interesting to see how his players respond to his comments. I'm guessing they aren't too pleased with the dude.
How effective can you be as a coach with players who feel you don't respect them and who no longer respect you?

If the players don't respect the constitution, then we need different players. It works both ways or it doesn't work.

Not sure how he disrespected his players unless they actually engaged in rioting. Pretty sure they weren't that stupid.
Are you suggesting that the players are so obligated to be sympathetic with the rioters that they should blow off their coach?
I don't think you have a very high view of their professionalism. But maybe you meant something else and just failed to explain it rationally.

Right, he's a racist himself, huh? Assuming millionaire professionals would side with the thugs burning and looting cities only because they share the same skin color, in most cases.

Yeah if he had said that white people are the main problem in America, or that burning down cities and murdering anyone that tries to stop you is a great way to remember George Floyd, he wouldn't be 100k poorer today. It isn't that he expressed his views, its that he expressed views that the ruling class finds dangerous, even if half or more of Americans agree with him. Privilege is being able to say whatever you want and having everyone kiss your rear for doing so and Jack clearly isn't a member of that club.

Correction. He wasn’t down playing them. He just asked why the riots the happened across the nation weren’t being looked into as well.

Right. He wasn’t down playing them. He just didn’t jump on the bandwagon and over sensationalize them like the dem squad and main stream media. He also didn’t encourage more and bigger riots like some of those same dem squad folks did in 2020. Definitely a double standard when these events are discussed.

Please allow me to provide some context to those comments made by Jack Del Rio… The protests & riots occurred after the murder of George Floyd. The insurrection attempt at the Capitol on 1/6/21 occurred after the incumbent president spread lies about a “stolen” election.
The riots & protests were led by people who are sick & tired of black bodies being murdered by the police. The attempted insurrection happened because idolaters saw their god dethroned.

... death of black people at the hands of the police. And the protests were peaceful up to a point.
Then the RIOTS were led by people determined to take advantage of the situation to sow seeds of discord and to,create chaos largely for political reasons.
And the riots opened the door for those who felt justified in expressing their “rage” at the death of George Floyd by stealing high-end electronics, attacking governmental facilities, and looting and burning many black owned Businesses.
Jack Del Rio is absolutely correct in his opinion.
The problem is that his opinion doesn’t follow the narrative being rammed down our throats the past several years.

I’m not a Trump fan. Can’t stand him actually. I don’t watch Fox News. In general, I dislike politics. Both parties are full of corruption and spend all of their time trying to get in power or trying to stay in power.
Everything said by the poster you replied to was correct. The protests of 2020 were hijacked by an element that was more interested in rioting, looting, and destruction than they were in peaceful protest of injustice.

Jumping on that bandwagon of programmed embeciles, RINOs, & true believers. Dr. Watson is the poster to which I replied and his perspective is obviously informed solely by leftist fairy tales as his comments were based in media driven propaganda. BTW, I am a fan of President Trump.

Wrong on all accounts. I don't watch CNN or digest any left-leaning media. I prefer Axios or the AP, because they're centrist.
The facts are there for your consumption: -45 spread lies and conspiracy theories about the election. -The mob fed by his lies and their idolatry of him tried to usurp the certification of the election.
Those are the facts. While you may prefer "alternate facts" (lies) to reality, it doesn't change what the world saw.

You are absolutely correct in that George Floyd wasn't murdered.
Murder requires both intent and pre-meditation.
Neither were in play with G.Floyd's death.
Political opportunists who were in position to 'interpret' the law rendered this incorrect judgement.

I can’t see where Del Rio was necessarily wrong in his assessment and I don’t really see his comments being racially driven or insensitive. If they are taken that way by some players or by an organization then it’s because the organization cares more about its image to the public than it cares about its employees view of right and wrong. The only ones making an issue of it are the ones who want to make it an issue. The underlying concern here is they are trying to possibly move the team and build a stadium in Virginia. They are relying on a senate vote there and they’ve received some backlash from one democratic senator already because of the comments. Del Rio spoke his mind and it hurt somebody’s feelings that the organization needs to appease so now it’s a concern.

if the coach had come out and said “I hate Trump” , “I hate non-liberals who do not support BLM”, or “ i believe white man is responsible for keepin da black man down”, he would have been a hero to the organization and not been fined.
Always remember, when it comes liberals, free speech is considered your right to say something they agree with. You have to treat them like children and understand that telling them something they don’t want to hear may cause a tantrum
