Nah, we're going to the B1G and Fox. SEC and ESPN can shove it

The big 10 makes no sense for Clemson, scheme wise, region wise and based on traditional rivals (unless you still fear the turtle) We’re 2 states away from the closest big 10 team, not to mention the stupid coast to coast structure is insane for non football sports.
Lastly Fox and CBS offer miserable coverage of college games, Gary Danielson offers insights that are below the level of even a Pop Warner game. It’s more pleasant to shove a stick in your ear then listen to that moron bumble on about the bare basics of college football

Wrong - given a binary choice, the B1G

Is the most sense from a Business perspective. The die hards will disagree because they are still living in yesteryear when everything was local and rivalries mattered.

We do know how this ends because you can’t make a school stay in a conference if they want to leave. There will be a settlement and The schools who want out will be gone. The only question is the size of the settlement and that will depend on the two pending court cases. Best guess is the final cost will be $30M per school as the ACC is far from clean.

Why wouldn't we join FSU and eventually UNC who is going to file a lawsuit and together? The only reason I can think of is death by a Thousand Cuts for the ACC and lawyer fees

IMHO ESPN will not last much longer in its current state of disrepair. With the exception of Wilbon, aging Kornheiser (he'll soon be old enough to run for President), Scott Van Pelt and a handful of others including Herbstreit & the Gameday crew, the network is fading fast. Gameday and College Football keep it alive, but that might not be enough. My point is, yes it's about the money to stay competitive, but before we climb on any high horse, keep in mind Iger & Disney may soon sell ESPN to the highest bidder.

Clemson would not be joining ESPN, but instead the SEC. Media partners come and go as evidenced by CBS losing the SEC tier 1 broadcast rights after having them for like 15 seasons.
Hating ESPN is a dumb reason to chose the B10 over the SEC.

I'll always despise ESPN for destroying college sports. The true reason for college sports has been erased and replaced with pay for play. Because of ESPN college sports turned into big business.
