Whatever happened to the Cardinal?

At one point they were one of the annual top 10 contenders. When nobody else in the Pac 12 could beat Oregon - they could. What happened?

Went from one of the best in the nation at a place it's hard to win at to outdated and bad in an instant.

It was not a gradual decline either like you usually see. They went from going from 10-2 to like 3-9 or worse overnight. No 6-6 type seasons or anything in between.

Then went from 9-4 in 2018 to winning no more than 4 games each year til he hung it up in 2022.

Well technically they’re the Cardinal, but not the bird that sits in trees, just the color of the bird that sits in the trees, but definitely not the bird nor the tree. However they do have a mascot that looks like a cracked out version of the tree that the bird that is the color of their team name would sit in, it all makes sense if… drugs
