I am a CU grad from Gville but have relatives outside Columbus. My cuz sent me text regarding the craziness going on with Ryan Day: "OSU has a show called Buckeye Blitz aired on ABC after the game. Fans - influential ones - are demanding his immediate resignation and want Urban Myer back in the position. Day and his family's life have been threatened and have been provided police protection. They are publically pushing for Stroud to transfer or go pro and demanding an internal rule be implemented demanding future QBs be natives of the state since outsiders do not grasp the importance of the rivalry. Some 'very' influential supporters threatening to close their pocketbooks unless Day is dismissed immediately." Golly - and I thought I was overreacting. Crazy yankees!

Hey, this is the team that spent all of 2020 cultivating their kids' hatred of our program and the fan base that harassed their own former QB to the point that he moved his family out of state.

When I was at Clemson, our kicker missed a field goal against SC. His life was threatened. Our fan base has been just as ridiculous.

Check out a Bama site when they lose or LSU's "Tigerdroppings." Oklahomans get nasty; even the space cadets on the west coast.
If anyone thinks ole TNet has been a cluster since yesterday, wait until next Saturday, and DJ comes trotting out onto the field, and God forbid, plays like he did yesterday.
Critical discussion is one thing; personal threats and deeds are an entirely different matter and should be dealt with forcefully.

All fan bases have these type of fans. Some just have more than others. As for most of the out cry’s from Clemson’s loss to the coots. We see what has happened to the football program the last four years. Dabo hires unproven coaches. Gives scholarships to kids of friends that would never sniff a scholarship offer from another P5 school. The list goes on and on. Like another poster stated. It’s a shame to have the talent we have get squandered because the coaches aren’t good enough. Clemson does not have a P5 coach on the staff. That also includes Dabo. He is a CEO not a X’s & O’s guy. Every offensive coach should be replaced. Not impressed with our DC either. Dabo will not make any staff changes this year and I have my doubts he will bench DJ5STARBUST if he decides to stay. We will/have regressed back to the Tommy Bowen era. Don’t give me that we won 10 games crap. Like others have posted. We play in the weak ACC. With that said, I’ll always be a Tiger fan like I have for 53 years.

Outside the threats which I don't agree. Stroud is from the west coast. They have a point there. Made a thread yesterday about California players. They are too laid back and unemotional for the most part to fit in the south and a place like OSU

I tend to agree. I know some really great people from Cali, but as a group, I don't see how that place hasn't yet fallen into absolute chaos. They are different and seem more likely than others to assume a good life simply just comes to them. It's been my opinion that what you described so well is at the heart of their loss of football success over the last 20-30 years (I realize USC is doing well this year).
As a State, they have a talent pool larger than any other so you know the talent is there, but something in the air saps the ability to put it on the field. DJ seems a great guy, but for my part, I'd keep the recruiting limited to the eastern half of US w a focus on the South and Midwest.

I lived on the California coast for eight years. They don't care about college football and think our passion for it is a curiosity. There's a some interest in pro ball.
