Dancing in the locker room

Over a 6 point win against BC. My how far we have fallen. Pretty soon we'll be charging the field if we beat Wake forest, Pittsburgh or Syracuse.
This is what is so devastating and hard to watch.

Would you rather have been in the other locker room?

Because we were only one well timed fumble recovery away from being there. When we win, we dance. Own it.

Face it. We lose that game if BC has they're starting QB. Our offense struggles because DJ struggles.

We deserved to win because we outplayed BC
Oct 3, 2021, 11:57 AM
[ in reply to Re: Would you rather have been in the other locker room? ] |

We dropped a sure fire pick-6, we dropped an interception in the Endzone to end the game, BC had a scoring drive kept alive off of a bogus personal foul roughing to QB penalty, we squandered a first and goal and settled for a field gold, we squandered what field position and settled for field goals three other times.
All three of BC‘s scoring drives we had stopped and only stupidity on our part Alexander world champion or the Refs bailed out BC.
If Clemson plays even mediocre that game should’ve been at least 31-0.

No. I wouldn't. Just noticing the psychology of this years team. This should be a routine win. But instead we're letting mediocre teams take us to the woodshed every week. Not sure what happened to DJ. But it looks like his parents divorce and the NIL have ruined him.

Gave you the confidence to come here... but you don’t really think you have a chance to beat us this year do you?? It’s cute if you do! Be honest- you think you have a chance don’t you?!?

I'm not a Gamecock fan. But if you think we can chalk up a victory against USC or any other team on our schedule other than UConn you are dreaming. I hope we go undefeated tge rest of the year. But if our offense and specifically DJ doesn't play better we will be fortunate to have enough wins to qualify for a bowl.

people like you can’t celebrate a mere win anymore.
We “charge the field” every hone game win or lose. A Clemson fan would know that.
As far as locker room dancing is concerned. Lighten up. Winning should always be a reason to celebrate.
There was no dancing after UGA or Nc State games.

I understand the gravity of the situation. You don't seem to grasp it.
You know what I meant by charging the field. I meant en masse by the tens of thousands like victories past over highly ranked teams.

Nope we really don’t understand what you mean by charging the field. The gathering at the paw is a Clemson tradition - win or lose. And it really sucks that Covid has taken that away from us too. And we dance when we win - very well documented over the last 6-7 years. You obviously don’t know much about Clemson football.

I know I sound like an old man, but something about calling the students rushing the field after every game “a tradition” makes my skin crawl. Frankly, I find the practice embarrassing to our fanbase.
Ditto for the woo-hoo and lack of balloons.
Grrr…get off my lawn!

Fans like to mingle with the players and get a chance to actually be on the field looking up.
It’s fun for them. I did it myself growing up and it was a thrill.
We’ve always been able to do it without looking silly because we do it win or lose.
Most places (Notre Dame for instance) are a bit less traditional about it.

I’m an old man too. I was a sophomore in 81 and helped make Death Valley loud then too. I can do without the woo hoo and would love to see the balloons come back. But the gathering at the paw shows our Tiger spirit win or lose in my opinion and I would much rather have that carry on than either the woo boo or the lack of balloons. We used to go on the field after the games in the early 80’s. We just didn’t have a name for it.

But I was shocked at how much the team celebrated after a touchdown! They acted liked they had just done the impossible. I was hoping maybe it was just what the doctor had ordered and things might start to click and they would gain some confidence but nope. Same old same old.
