It's intriguing. BUT---would Dabo do it? Would Jeff even want to do it? Hmmmmm

Great question. Clearly there are issues at WR - not much separation and dropped passes.

It's more than that: No blocking, they can't get off press coverage, I could go on but why bother? We all saw what happened on Monday.

And, more. Scott brought cohesiveness to the team, and a great recruiter.

And recruiting. No doubt he's an ace recruiter.

I hate to say it, but there is no better recruiter in the country right now at WR than Brian Hartline at Ohio State.
When you compare Tyler Grishamn (started in 2019) to Brian Hartline (Started in 2018), it's a joke.
Tyler has only had (1) 5 star player commit since 2019, where Brian has 9 (NINE!),...and 6 of those 9 are WR's.
That's the kind of recruiting Jeff Scott used to do.

Then Dabo needs to hire Hartline! If best is the Standard around here.

It certainly couldn't hurt. I have no idea where Jeff's mindset is right now. That HC job seems to have taken some of the fire out of him for coaching and I'm not sure how long he will need to get it back. Originally, he wanted the summer off but I think the summer off may have turned into a season off.

I am not sure this is true. My understanding was him taking another job would impact his getting paid by USF.

According to what they said earlier in the year, he would come back as an analyst and not a coach which would not invalidate his contract. He said he wanted to take the summer off and spend time with his family. It has been very quiet ever since.

Could it get any worse? One brought you WRU. What good has Grisham done?

Something sure seems off with development

I thought Frank Ladson, EJ Williams, Decari Collins all flashed and showed potential their freshman years only to fall off a cliff production wise as sophomore’s and end up transferring. Really the same with Ngata and Beaux Collins. Looked like they had the potential as freshman to develop into something special, but they just kind of maintained status quo.

Great point and in fact, I would go as far to say that they actually REGRESSED under Grisham.

Jeff's success at WR was because he learned from Dabo.

I'm curious if he's already in the ear of Riley. Maybe already offering help behind the scenes if you will. Dabo's specialty is WR too.
Now keep in mind they just brought in 2 highly recruited guys and almost snagged a third who chose Tenn, maybe Scott had a hand in this.
What Scott ( and his dad ) brings are ties to the state of Florida That is fertile territory for WRs.
I might add that the recent addition of Chad Morris will help in bettering our recruitment of Texas. As everybody knows the lone star state is loaded with speedy WRS and RBs
Surely the combination of Riley , Morris and Dabo can resurrect our recent play at WR.
You should notice I omitted Grisham from the conversation. That's intentional. I've seen nothing from him to indicate he remain in employ.

It will take a transfer or two and some development if younger guys.
A couple if track speedsters might help bridge the gap.
