You are right a failed slug to a guy in a helmet is less of a threat than a two handed shove on the way to get in the refs face.
UGA will do nothing

Assault is assault. Period. Woody had MUCH less force in his assault. Kirby darn near curb stomped that kid.

It should. You would think there'd be an uproar from the media but we're living in different times obviously. It'll be brushed off and explained.

Woody was getting older and the program was slipping. He gave them a convenient excuse w the punch. He had shoved photogs, destroyed down markers, and had other outbursts during good years going to Rose Bowls and they were overlooked

Some of you are making excuses for a low class thug of a coach that recruits from high school and the portal with no regard for his teams character. I would be embarrassed by many aspects of my schools team if I was a Bulldog fan. I know it does embarrass me when our guys get in trouble

I didnt mention smart and made no excuse for him or woody actually. I just stated why one time woody got fired after years of misbehavior and antics.
I will say since Kirby is doing well Ga isnt going to do squat to him just like he doesnt do squat to his bad actors. Weasels with no accountablilty at Ga.

Kirby will issue a public apology. He will call Jeff Lebby and apologize to Mississippi State and the concerned player. That won't do anything to help ease the handful of TNET posters, who will remain the only people on the planet upset by this. Perhaps Kirby will also issue an apology to them.

Think an apology is enough?? Nah. Grown ### man should know better and has no place in a game that demands sportsmanship of the athletes and apparently none from the coach.. ref was standing right there too. Sec needs to fix this

Man if that would have happened to a Ga player your panties would have wadded up, but again you defend the new Thug U that cannot do the 2 things they are supposed to be doing and that’s growing up young men and being sure they are getting diplomas. Kirby fails at both.
It is now college football. Just win baby and #### on doing things the right way.
#### on Ga and OSU. They just buy their teams anyways. Love to see teams like that fail.

You are cool with players getting kicked out for hitting qbs out of bounds, for spitting and for making obscene hand jesters but a coach can SHOVE the other teams QB and he (maybe) should apologize? This has nothing to do with our game, I tipped the hat. It’s funny how you use that as your excuse for the lack of sportsmanship.
Do you get tired of having to cover up for your coach? #### I would. I enjoy a good college game and respect the winner but sadly this punk that is your coach is nothing but that, a punk.
And by the way I loved Nicky at Alabama. Wished he would have stayed there a hundred years. We ran a train on him twice (and still have the belt)

If a player on the sideline hits an opposing player like that it is a 15 yard penalty. That is the minimum that should have happened.
I agree it appeared he had no idea who he hit. Does that make it any better? Dude is so out of control he has no idea who he hit that hard???

Kirby, in the heat of the moment, blindly shoved somebody who bumped into him and blocked his path. He would have shoved his grandma in that situation. He didn't punch anybody in the face like Woody did. A very different reaction to a very different situation.

The Woody deal was a little before my time but watching replays not sure I have ever seen anything remotely close to what he did till yesterday.
When you spend that much money and a team like Miss St. scores 31 at your place you know he was a little upset.

SEC won’t do anything. They only care about collecting funds from teams whose fans go on the field to celebrate top 5 wins.
I hope like heck we don’t go to that garbage league.
We would definitely make a lot more money but would turn around and pay the SEC for our tradition of gathering at the Paw.

Hit someone in the face, my goodness smilingtiger , Clemson player was wearing a helmet. Woody’s was less egregious than Kirby’s actions. Has UGA had any kids killed in a drunk driving accident lately after a visit to a strip club in a university vehicle? Embarrassing for UGA and embarrassed by Clemson fans somehow defending Kirby’s actions

And there it is: the reference to the driving incidents and strip clubs. You don't give a frog's fat you-know-what about any of this other than it provides you (and others) with yet another spear you can toss at UGA. You're not concerned about the Miss St player or "sportsmanship." You want to take a shot because it's all you have. I get it,if you could talk football you would. Because Georgia owns Clemson and Kirby owns Dabo (so far, at least), this is the stuff you've got.

Ga and Kirby buys players Dabo does not and actually graduates players. Love to see the difference in how these young men compare in how they adapt to the real world in 10 years. My money says “Clemson Men” trumps in that category by a large margin.
Friends with some of these former players on FB and can read first hand on what they got going on years after their playing days are over.

to me, the thing that just looks especially bad there is that the kid was actually leaving the sideline. It's not like he was over there pulling some kind of dance move after the play. He was jogging slowly back onto the field, and Smart just basically threw him out of the way. I would love to see what would have happened if the kid had fallen down, grabbing his knee, and then later showed up in a courtroom wearing a neck brace, with a lawyer who moonlights helping some cartel get its coke onto Cessnas flying into tiny airports.

I played football through college and I found that a football team tends to take on the personality of their coaches, good or bad. So, I am not surprised by Kirby's action, but I would be surprised if their were any significant penalty imposed. Starts at the top!
