Wonder if Peake moves back to his old position and Scott

Sep 22, 2015, 8:52 AM

moves to Mike's position with RayRay starting if we could begin to use the Jet Sweep stuff again.

I'm assuming we are a little concerned running Jet Sweep with Scott now that he is our main option at WR. RayRay looked very natural running the sweep. Only reason I mentioned this.

Peake just doesn't seem comfortable at this new position and maybe would be more productive back in his normal position.

Of course the other option would be Cain or Thompson taking over Mike's position with Peake and Scott remaining at their natural spots.

It will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Rather see Cain and Thompson more. Peaked does need to move back.

I agree. Thompson is built similar to Mike, and Cain just has that ability to separate from defenders.

I wonder if the freshmen are ready to play two positions.

Seems like the natural progression is to work Cain in behind Peake. I expect Peake will be more focused this go-round.

I expect our offense can get some rhythm going with two weeks off.

Move Peake back to his old position and start Cain at Mike's

spot, as they should have done originally. Don't think you ask the freshman to learn a new position so early on. Cain and Ray Ray need more touches to accelerate the development of their obviously superior talent. I just don't see why Hopper, Renfrow and Thompson should get more reps than them.

Deon and Ray Ray have that superior acceleration and speed to gain separation that you don't see from any of the other receivers.

I would rather see Ray-Ray or Deon get time over Hopper, dude has hands of stone. Thompson is extremely talented and can go up and get the ball just like Williams. Renfrow is this years Humphries a continuation receiver. Ray Ray should be in the jet sweep.

Peake seems to have had plenty of chances and time. . .

to make an impact. It's more or less time to let the young guys step and and make plays. As Swinney says, this game is not about potential, it is about performance. Time after time, Peake has had his touches. He is simply not consistent enough, and at times, looks quite lazy. The irony is Adam Humpheries is on an NFL roster as an afterthought recruit out of Dorman; while Peake was the 4/5 star guy from Dorman who is no better than he was in 2011.
