about Ohio State vs Iowa game.....why would you, only mystery is if Ohio State will win by 21 or 35
same thing for an Alabama vs South Carolina game and so on and so forth, unless you have some "skin" in the game, alot of games are boring.
I am one of those that tend to believe that NIL, unhindered transfers (no sit out year), and general lack of punishment for violations by big money teams (georgia, bama, types) has made the NCAA who used to be THE LAW. look like a judge in NYC letting criminals out on no cash bail time and time again.
now that the speed of change is accelerating out of control with sports betting, gigantic coach salaries, huge buyouts, zero loyalty, and nothing but huge price increases for the average fan attending, where exactly does it end? In my opinion it won't, i think it will simply continue to exist as this cluster freak until it implodes alltogether which will most likely coincide with the actual countries economy imploding, will happen on the same day. keep dreaming that ESPN/SEC will continue to write schools 120 million dollar checks because a contract says it, no one is getting another red cent when it goes down.

Ncaa didn't ruin anything.
Fans did.
I want to be clear.. fans did.
I did.. you did.. we did.
We could have called the ADs and said don't fight these ncaa punishments.. but we didn't. We wanted our schools to get off guilt free and win games.
Ncaa doesn't fund nil. We do. Fans are throwing money at these kids . We are encouraging them to transfer to other schools for more play time and more money.
We keep this mega money machine moving.

The NCAA had plenty of time to put rules in place but they dragged their a$$e$ until the courts came in. If they would have bent a little we would be in a lot better situation.

I did not have anything to do with it! And your take is very simplistic! Although a grain of truth in it.

The NCAA destroyed it all.
They USED to come down hard. Their rules became overly complex and uncertain. I'm no Harbaugh/Michigan cheater's fan but they came down on Harbaugh for buying a dude lunch. That's just ridiculous.
They could've staved off a ton of these lawsuits with common sense changes. Cap the stipends at a much higher number, (250k would've been a much much better number, easy enough to market as well to congress. A million dollars and a free college education, who is getting ""exploited"" under that system?) Makes it fair for ALL P5 teams (if you can't pay a star QB 250k you aren't a serious program) , busting up these mega conferences that are slowly becoming a monopoly on FBS football. Allowing open season on the transfer portal instead of common sense rules. If a coach leaves a player can leave, absolutely legitimate verifiable serious family issues/ health issues, and of course the grad transfer rule already in place that incentives a guy to finish their undergrad. Or you transfer and sit out like how it used to be.
Now theyre a toothless org that does nothing more than take up money and space in our world.

They were sued in every instance when a school

Wanted to avoid trouble. They tried to fight.. and lost in every court battle that was pushed.
The schools could have taken the judgment.. but didn't. They fought. Who funds the schools? Who pays their lawyers?

A lot of it is through the players themselves not the schools. House was a swimmer.
The schools were more than content to never pay any player anything.

Nil does not come from schools.
It comes from fans. The fans are buying these players.

I agree that the NCAA had a lot to do with the chaos that we now call college football. But it was not only the lawsuits, IMO the NCAA has struggled with poor leadership, lack of accountability, and corruption.
Along with the NCAA you have to include politicians, corrupt judges, incompetent dishonest officials, and some boosters who for money, power or both are contributing to the out of control athletics we are seeing at all levels.
Now include the ease of betting on sports, college athletes with way too much money, coaches with huge contractual buyouts alcohol sales at college sports events, luxury boxes and greed now you have today’s world of sports !!!

NBA never had me. MLB stopped being fun after the doping stuff.
Now I'm down to Clemson football because it brings my family together a few Saturdays each fall, which is great win or lose.
Plus I already have enough bad habits. Don't need to add "inveterate gambler" to the list.

Great Post 👍👍👍. Gambling has added more interest in sports but I believe like you said it will also be the death Nail for many athletic programs.
I believe it will start with non revenue generating sports. It will eventually affect the Revenue generating sports. How much more money and increasing cost can fans pay before they can no longer afford to attend games or pay to stream a game live ???

and mostly agree, but just being truthful I still tune in to some games to root against programs with the most entitled and obnoxious fan bases.
I do lose interest pretty quickly if the bad guys start dominating.
