Exactly! Then they are held to different standards! Then they form a Union and everyone will get equal pay for equal work! Lol, that could put a crimp in their lifestyles as the 4th string DB gets the same pay as the 1st string guy. Then some will start coasting and let others pick up their slack but still demand the same pay like in every other private sector job! A glorious cluster f@#k!

You know the NCAA ought to change their name to, SNAFU or FUBAR!

Do 4th-stringers get paid the same as 1st-stringers in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL? They all have players' unions.

No. They do all have contracts. This could put a lid on the Portal silliness.

Nope, the guvment will step in and impose the 'scaling' of the DoD system and totally over-complicate the rankings. Then grievances will be filed and bog the system even more. Oh, and once you get an injured athlete.... workmans comp will come into play.. LMAO.

They probably will be. There has already been a ruling at the federal level that they can be. The revenue-sharing will likely be what causes them to all be considered employees and protected by workers' rights.

Fed Employment tax law will determine whether student athletes are employees. Gonna be interesting. No matter how the ruling goes the money paid to a student athlete over $600 is taxable and report by those who paid the money.
