With any luck...

ND loses to Stanford and we don't have to hear about the BB heads any more. Ideally the end of the season plays out so that none of the traditional media darlings are in the playoffs. JMHO.

ND isn't making the playoff without a lot of help.

I believe the folks who have the say in this matter know that they are working only because of a rematched Bama/LSU game. I do not think they will put a team in there that could lead to a rematch.

ND doesn't have a conference championship. Everybody on this committee knows ND foregoes conference affiliation for money. Greed, lust or economics, however you say it ND has an advantage.

ND is not one of the best four teams in NCAA football this year and hasn't been in a quarter of a century. ND was a patsy team, over hyped to set up an SEC champion for the MNC title the last time they made the cut. ND probably belongs just outside the top ten due to injuries this season.

That being said, we need ND to remain a one loss team which is left out because there's no room at the #4 spot for them if we expect to remain at #1 until the PO games are scheduled. I hope they beat Standford.

I tend to agree.....

Their best win (Temple) is no longer looking all that impressive and now that Stanford has another loss (now 8 - 2), a win against the Cardinal at the end of the year isn't going to do much to enhance their resume. Right now, Notre Dame's best argument to be included is a close loss on the road to the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. If either Oklahoma State or Oklahoma wins out, they get in ahead of Notre Dame IMO.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

They want Oklahoma to win the Big 12.

Nov 18, 2015, 8:12 AM

Because they they have that common opponent thing with Texas. But I don't know if that would be enough.

Either way you slice it, it's looking more and more like....

Nov 18, 2015, 8:19 AM

Notre Dame at 11 - 1 could be on the outside looking in.

Best scenario for them...obviously a 2-loss Big 12 champ

Nov 18, 2015, 8:22 AM

If not, a 1-loss Oklahoma St.

If I were a Notre Dame fan, I'd cheer hard for Oklahoma St. to lose to Baylor this week, then to beat Oklahoma the following week, and for TCU to beat Baylor next week.

Yes, they need help.

They also need to hope that Clemson keeps winning***

if we lose to WF or cawks, we drop out of the top 10.

Nov 18, 2015, 8:42 AM

that would open up another top 4 spot for them to get in. pundits already consider the monsoon game like a non-loss almost.
