Georgia fans, I think this guy’s talent level is equivalent to Cade Klubnik. Probably worse.
You put Cade on Georgia and Carson Beck on Clemson, I don’t think anything would change.
Georgia’s surrounding roster talent has carried Beck and Bennett.
That being said, the only time that you saw Georgia face a real defense was Alabama last year. Beck threw under 250 yards, 0 TD. DJ.
And I have a good mind to say that our defense this year and last year were and will be better than Alabama’s defense last and this year.
Huge part of this game is Peter Woods.
The equation was simple during 2015-2020, Wilkins, Ferrell, Lawrence, etc., got pressure on every QB and forced mistakes.
Our secondary is going to be very very very good again, and if we can put a scare into Beck early, we definitely have a real chance.
We’ve always got a real chance anyways with Dabo

Well I figured we would have ran over Duke in game 1 last year. I will temper my expectations until we get an offense that can score some points consistently.
We are currently not on Georgia’s level talent wise right now. I hope it’s a good ball game but it would not surprise me if we lost by 14+. Hope I’m way off on that.

If we come out ahead, I would imagine the postgame storyline would be our defensive front's performance and getting pressure on a relatively immobile Beck.
The other storyline that I would love to see would be the explosiveness of our offense, but that one seems a bit hopeful at this point.

Talent wise CK probably better. Beck more mature, poised, more of a leader type at this point in his career.
But there is a chance, we could see a new CK this season, with more weapons and a RB/TE combo that should be very good. WR will need to grow up/show up quick.

Y’all
Carson Beck is NOT better in any way.
He has a surrounding system that exceeds baseline success. Their line and receivers go above and beyond and make him look that way.
Another piece of evidence…..
Stetson Bennett just plain does not fit in the NFL.
Carson Beck mayyy have a bit better talent, and height maybe I’m not sure. But it’s not much.

Beck had a very good season and Cade did not. At the end of the day that's all that really matters and everything else is just conjecture (likely injected with a good bit of Clemson bias here).

Your blocking matters, your receivers matter
We of course saw plenty of good moments, but the bad was really bad.
You also can’t say that it’s because of a new system because Tajh Boyd went from turning it over to one of the best QBs in ACC history because of Morris. And Sammy.
The missed block against FSU was extremely bad. Like, so bad it lost us the game. That block gets picked up and maybe we even score on that drive.
On top of that the receivers have mostly just been running flat looking routes. Not a flat route, but just out there running around without purpose.
The whole scheme looked like it was improving, but overall I think Cade would look like a 5 star with the support Beck has.

You been hitting the shine...Beck is definitely better? Until Cade shakes that deer in a headlights look consistently and has a better feel for the pocket I'd be hard pressed to say he's better than anyone at this time.

Where do you think he got that deer in head lights response?
It almost looks as if that response has gotten worse at a fast rate since he got heee. You didn’t see it that bad against UNC in the ACC title, but last year.
That line has caused that

Yeah...its impossble for a qb on another team to be better. They just look better because of blah blah blah, but they are not actually better. Do people just cut and paste this same cop out argument from year to year?
I had a guy that went to my boss a few years ago and told him he was worth what I was worth and should get paid accordingly. He asserted that he could do anything I could do if someone just showed him....and therein is why I was better than he was and got paid alot more.

More specifically, if you were to put Cade at Georgia from the time he started college to now, with all of the practice and game experience, then Cade would at least perform the same.

Ok, so I am ABSOLUTELY behind Cade and hope that he plays like i think he CAN play. And I agree with you, the line is 80% of his problem and caused his development to stall. That said, I won't take anything away from Beck, the dude played pretty well as the season progressed and Kirby loosened the leash. Don't get it twisted, Kirby is an old school Saban protege, Dude is PERFECTLY happy to run, run run, punt and win a 9-6 game. That said, Beck also had one of the better O lines in America. That matters! Meanwhile Cade had a bunch of dudes who two years from now will work as a golf pro or the Parks and Rec director. We have got to make Line recruiting THE priority imo and then the rest will all work out. Let Coach Luke cook!

Yes, you can absolutely take all credit in the world from Beck.
Like I said, Stetson Bennett is not good enough for the NFL.
So how in the he** did Bennett do so well at Georgia against future pro competition in the SEC?
1) Brock Bowers
2) O-Line
3) Defense
4) Running backs
5 Receivers
I’m sorry everybody for sounding so stubborn about this, and like I just want to get at Georgia….
But if there was any part of Georgia’s recent teams that you could substitute anybody for, it’s there QB.
And it’s obvious because Bennett sucks in the NFL. While he was made to look like a Heisman with NFL players supporting him all around him.
