Why is Neff hiring a coach that has had

a worse record than the guy we just fired, while playing in inferior conference? And paying him more? A guy, from what I read isn't exactly a hot commodity with other schools beating down his door. Hiring a guy guy who has made overtly racist statements? Does Neff feel this is a recipe for success?

The ignorance in here never ceases to amaze me. The man was the 2019 National Coach of the Year. He finished runner up at the CWS. He's consistently won at a school that probably can't play outside for at least a month after southern schools can. Our last hire was the head coach at College of Charleston. I think hiring a Power 5 head coach is a step up, especially one with his experience and people he's coached under

His record etc is similar to Leggets when he was hired.

Let’s hope the results are similar.

Wasn’t Leggett a Clemson assistant when he became our head coach? Thinking Bill Wilhelm got him from Western Carolina where he had been head man and sort of made him “HC in Waiting” at Clemson.

You are correct. Leggett was brought in as an assistant with the knowledge he would succeed Coach Wilhelm in "94".

I think this is kind of a weird statement because he is also mostly playing against schools that can't play outside for a month after southern schools but still has never won his own conference and had a worse record this season than the cosch CU just fired. Time will tell. But he made one big run and otherwise has very little to show.

Bakich is a better coach than Lee.

That’s not just my opinion. He’s one of the top coaches in the country. Michigan fans are devastated he’s leaving.
Those who cover college baseball for a living (and those who at least follow it nationally) think we knocked it out of the park. I would trust them over what a few message board posters say. Bakich built Michigan baseball into a legit contender year in and year out. It wasn’t that way when he got there. Lee took a legit contender year in and year out and made the program regress. And that’s hard for me to say because I was a huge Monte fan.
And another bright side is the new assistant coaches are going to be WAY better than what we had previously.
I cannot see any negative to this hire like others can. But perhaps people always want to be negative for some reason. Give the guy a chance

It’s increasingly obvious the vast numbers of posters on here don’t follow Clemson baseball specifically or college baseball generally in anyway. Yet, since they are here, they feel the need to develop an ill-informed, knee-jerk opinion and stick to it no matter what.

I’m for giving him a chance. Hard to gauge seeing where he has been coaching.

Get over it. People yell every time we lose any game in sport but that is life. Winning is not good enough which is part of what is wrong with our society.

National baseball guys think this is a great hire! I do too, especially if he hires Pawlowski as pitching coach.

GUESS YOU MISSED THE PART WHERE USC SENIOR WANTED TO HIRE HIM. ALSO THE PART WHERE TIM CORBIN SAID THERE WOULD BE NO VANDY WITHOUT HIM WHEN THEY TOOK THE JOB THERE. AND MAYBE THE PART THAT HE COACHES ON THE FROZEN TUNDRAS OF MICHIGAN. MAYBE YOU IDIOTS SHOULD DO A LITTLE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU START JACKING YOUR JAWS ABOUT THINGS YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT.

Jarrett is going to fsu. Godwin was a possibility but Bakich is a good hire. Neff had to run off Monte because he wasn't going in the right direction.
