Why don't we use a defensive tackle as a fullback?

Oct 18, 2014, 11:25 PM

I just watched FSU make the goal line and short yardage plays look easy! They pulled a defensive tackle in as a n extra fullback and literally smacked Notre Dame in the mouth! I hope Clemson coaches are seeing this because im tired of us using 5 lineman and a tightend to get a yard when the defense is brining 9+ defenders on the run! It's not rocket science to understand the physics here! We are yet to try a RB ISO this year but yet the coaches are still asking why we can't get short down yardage

Because the OL needs to make a hole a RB can run through let alone a 300 lb FB.

Did it last year with Reader.

Because there's no FB in the shotgun...

You can run short yardage plays unless you have a slow QB and you run it from the shotgun 7 yds deep.

No FB required.

How awesome would Jarrett be as a FB? look out
