Tigers turn attention to Florida St.
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said that while many fans might consider Saturday’s 73-7 trouncing of South Carolina St. a glorified scrimmage, the coaches are using the game film to identify the types of players they have on the roster as the Tigers prepare to take on top-ranked Florida St. Full Story » |

Not one mention of Kurt Fleming... Hmmm could be a secret weapon in our stock pile. Anyone care to elaborate?

Pound them with the big body of Fleming starting. Then a heavy dose of the speed and power of Gallman...
Or the other way around....

Highly highly. .... did I happen to mention highly doubtful that if Kurt does play against FSU that he will get a carry. That strip says he is still a bit green

Hey, he's just getting rolling. That strip won't happen again, and doesn't take a thing away from his size, power, and speed. Of course there's still DJ Howard, NOT.

loved watching him run with the ball .... hated watching him let it roll on the ground... he needs to hold on to the ball.... I love watching backs like him eat clock at the end of a game.. we have not had that in a while.... I loved watching CJ Davidson going over the top of the pile at the goal line at UGa as well... had not seen that from a Clemson team in a while....

Kurt Fleming did nothing wrong. It was an extraordinary move by the defensive guy that pried the ball loose. We should definintely use this beast in th next game.

Dabo addresses this tonight on the call in show after he was asked about him. Said flat out, that Kurt isn't ready. Personally, I think two fumbles in limited action shows that, but still some think he's a "player" right now. Dabo's exact words were, "nowhere near ready for primetime." Said he got in a little trouble Saturday for not being ready when his number was called the first time. Said they were "polishing him up " so be could be a great player down the line. Did day he is in on one package right now, and we saw it early vs Ga, when he was used as an extra blocker on the goal line. He won't contribute this season in any games that are still in doubt, he's just not there yet. The guy hadn't played football in a few years before he got to Clemson. Dabo said he hoped to use him as a "FB type player" when he is ready. So, get this secret weapon stuff out your minds, its not happening this season. I think we'll be fine with Gallman, Davidson, and Choice this season, even in short yardage, provided the line gets its #### in gear and starts blocking some people. Hopefully Fleming develops into that guy we all envision he can be, but according to Dabo, he's nowhere close to that now.

When I say he won't contribute in games that aren't decided yet, I mean as a ball carrier.

He is one more hard nosed, wide open all the time guys. I enjoy seeing him run/block, etc. He may be that big bruiser we have needed. Another one like him is Adam Choice. Great weapons!

I agree. This guy is a hammer, with speed. I hope the staff doesn't somehow miss this, and does consider him a secret weapon.

That's way too "out-of-the-box" thinking. We would prefer to play not to lose, even if it does end up preventing winning in and of itself. Other new wrinkles this year we haven't seen before include wearing Fall jackets in sweltering heat. Maybe the near heat strokes are causing playcalling to suffer. Hmmm.

We need to tear Kurt flemming like we did CJ and Sammy

Find a way to get him the ball in the open field. Yes of course he will be a great short yardage back but if he gets in the open field and into the second level of the defense then watch out. We saw that a couple of times Saturday. I remember one play when he ran over the safety and just acted like he wasnt even there. Sounds crazy but I would love to see him catch a few screen passes and let him run over the DBs. That would definitely be a size advantage for Kurt. I would really love to see Flemming vs Boulware in practice.

I don't agree with this statement 100% do you think that last year, when Florida State came into Clemson and whipped our butts that they focused on the bye week? No. They came in ready to play with a game plan that they knew would work. Over a two week period where they studied and scrutinized everything, we as a team, did. They were ready. I say prepare, prepare, prepare. Go Tigers!!!

Has anyone noticed that FSU had an open date last year before they played us at home. And we played BC the week before. FSU has an open date before they play us again this year in their house. I'm seeing favoritism being given to FSU before their toughest games b/c they also have another open date before playing at Louisville also. A little stacking the deck going on inside the ACC. And FSU only plays 4 away games with 8 at home.

Not really, but I didn't expect it to be so blatant. They have that we will do as we please attitude not caring who knows or see its happening. Oh well. we'll just have to beat scheduling disadvantages also, we can do it.

How do you get an open date before playing your toughest opponent 2 years in a row? I think the league wants a playoff participant. They think FSU gives the ACC the best chance to win it all... thoughts??

that the ACC is finally taking a page out of the SEC's book and supporting it's best teams. That is how the SEC has produced a National Title contender every year. If we want to be treated like the bell cow then we need to take the bell by force!

I was wondering what was up with Trevion. I was very excited to see such a physically gifted player commit but I guess he hasn't learned the system. Wouldn't hurt to redshirt I think.
