I think the answer is our depth at DE this year. Three seniors with Beasley, Barnes and Crawford plus Lawson who had 10 TFL and 4 sacks as a freshman (plus year of prep school) are filling the 2-deep.

2-deep, as they do at some other positions. Having said that, I'm sure you are correct. A lot of depth across the DL. After closer inspection, I see that Scott Pagano is not listed either, but I'm pretty sure Dabo has said he expects him to play this fall.

I think they are technically a 2 deep at all the other positions. Vic, Shaq, Barnes, Crawford are probably easily top 4 on the roster.

If you look at other positions where more than 2 are listed, there is an OR in front of the name. I guess this is called a flexible two deep...

Really going out on a limb here, but maybe the guys ahead of him have more talent/experience. He is probably #3 in the rotation.
