Who's Next at Clemson? Friday ?? Coaching Search Update

Here is the latest on Clemson's search for a new head baseball coach.

According to multiple sources, All Clemson has spoken to in the last three days, a potential candidate list has emerged based on mutual interests and/or other factors.

Other names could still be considered based on availability and desire, but based on the information we have received over the last three days, here is a more narrowed list of candidates for Clemson’s head coaching job heading into the weekend:

Link Jarrett, Notre Dame

Kevin O'Sullivan, Florida

Cliff Godwin, East Carolina

Erik Bakich, Michigan

Matthew LeCroy, Rochester Red Wings, a Washington Nationals affiliate

Scott Jackson, Liberty

All Clemson has learned Clemson has already spoken with one potential candidate.

I like Godwin but don't believe he will leave ECU. Same with Coastal coach.

I think it would be great if they gave Lecroy a shot. He has always been committed to the tigers and would put everything he has into the re-build.

O'sullivan would be nice but

It's going to take a ton of money to move O'Sullivan. I think his salary is about 1.4 mil and our last coach was just over 1/3 of that. Either way, The Tiger AD is going to have to come off some hyperinflated greenbacks to land a big boy coach. I don't know how much Lecroy makes but I doubt it's 1.4. He'd be my #2.

I know nothing about the search. My only two comments areL

Florida is spending a ton of money on baseball and O-Sullivan seems very happy there.

Link Jarret played (and was an assistant) at FSU.

Link Jarrett just seems like the best fit. Has a track record of developing players. He’s achieved at ND, but seriously who wants to spend a coaching career in the Feb-April cold of the midwest. His recent accomplishments are good for a big payday to come back south. The FSU job isn’t currently open so why not Clemson?

We have an Alabama link to the football coaching staff and their legendary Coach - why not a link to FSU baseball and their Legendary Coach.
