Who's Gonna Man the Post Next Year? Nnoko and Smith?

Hope all the Brownell pumpers realize that we have ZERO post player recruits for next year. Our poor recruiting of this area is cause for concern.
Next Years Frontcourt: Nnoko (6'10) Smith (very generous 6'8) Sullivan (VERY generous 6'7) McDaniels (6'6) Blossomgame (VERY generous 6'7) Ajukwa (6'5)
There's a reason why Brownell brought Jennings back after suspension. Nnoko, Sullivan and Smith couldn't beat Jennings out for playing time this year.

Question of the year

Hopefully one of them develop. But i think we are just going to have to play small for most of the year and stretch defenses. Our defense.....not a great feeling at this point. Although I expect we start Filer, Roper/Coleman, McDaniels, Sullivan, Nnoko to start the year... I wouldn't be surprised to see Sullivan at the 5 and Blossingome at the 4 as the starting five for a few games.

Lack of recruiting at all the positions worry me,and with little or no depth,I realize that Brownell might need to substitute frequently, butI would love to see a traditional 5 man rotation with: Hall at point. Roper or Filer at shooting guard Nnoko at center. K.J. or Sullivan at small foward. Smith at power foward. Also I feel Clemson would be best suited with a slower tempo on offense.Milk the shot clock when possible and limit the other teams possession time.

next year. If we play the style of basketball we're playing this year, we'll get killed.

And did you see how many balls we threw the ball into the stands Thursday night( I counted three)by trying to run an up tempo game against one of the best up tempo teams in college basketball? And I can't tell you how many times in the past, either under Purnell ,or Brad did we try to play the other teams game( tempo) and lost.. No,I'm no expert on the x's and o's but I think we need to get a true point guard,a couple of shooters, and two big men who can go to the hoop, both on offense and defense and play a slow down game. That is of course unless you can get some smaller shooters like UNC HAS and run a quicker offense.

I agree! When we slowly trot up the court, and run the set patterns, things seem to bog down. Actually, I think a combo approach is best ... run and gun AND slow down "O", the Coach determines that depending on "how things are going".

Most discussion on Basketball on Tigernet to date...

We (Clemson University) need to recommit to basketball. It is not Brownell fault that he cannot get good prospects to seven visit. It is the adminstration with the poor arena and all things that makes a scholl competitive in the recruiting battles. Otherwise, poor Brad will be trying as hard as he did this year to stay in the middle of the pack for ACC until he has an opportunity to go elsewhere. He is a good coach.

Gamecocks stupidly built people need to stop bringing up their monstrosity.
We need a 12k MAX facility with Luxury suites.
Spend whatever money you would have on a 20k building on player facilities that are top notch.

Thanks for stepping into the void and helping to frame this discussion...no desire to copy the coots with a Hollowdome, but we do need to step up our game with basketball facilities. My brother actually stayed in the bottom on Littlejohn for a few weeks his freshman year way back in 1978. I know they put some lipstick on it a while back but wait for it...it is still a pig. With the league shifting towards basketball with the new additions, we have to decide whether or not we want to continue as 'whipping boys' or get into the game.

very well aware of that. I've said several times we need a big man in this class. I think Nnok will be ok from what we've seen. I think unless I have misread him Smith will go the Bobo route and at best be playable late in his career.
The irony with the guys coming back gaining experience we could begin to address the shooting woes just in time to have no rebounding or inside presence
