Judge Keller, serious question…..

Why do you love and defend Clemson basketball so much?
I and we see a load of ppl defend football, but why do you defend the basketball program? What is it about the sport that gets you?
I ask as a friend and not a flame.

Don't all Tiger Fans???
I'm not a JK nor a CBB fan.
Why wouldn't a Clemson fan defend a Clemson team? Are you pulling against them? Are you sure that you are a true fan?

JK loves Brad, plain and simple. Brad. Not Clemson. Brad. Once you realize this, although JK’s posts may not make any sense, it makes sense why JK posts that way.

“Serious question” from “I and we”. Sounds to me like you’re trying to pick a fight. I am not JK but I can tell you that I love and support Clemson sports including Basketball. And Brad Brownell. I love good defense in College BB. I think he has done a good job of supporting his recruiting by bringing in talented transfers.
Tonight was a very nice ACC road win against a long time foe. What’s not to love?
Go Tigers!

They play a wonderful sport, they represent Clemson, and they are easy to cheer for.
What isn’t to love about this group of players? They are great guys who love Clemson. They didn’t come here because Clemson basketball is trendy. They didn’t come because we have a high profile or polarizing coach. They didn’t come here because they are coddled and treated like royalty.
They came because they believe in what we are doing. They wanted to be part of Clemson GRIT. They knew about the obstacles they would be up against at Clemson, they knew that they would often be underdogs, and they chose us anyway. I love that.
I will gladly stand up for them because many people won’t. In fact, few will.
This is a good team I hope everyone here will get behind.

So reading between the lines(since you can’t complete a thought), you would rather hate on BB and lose, than get off his @ss and win. And that somehow makes you a fan? A fan of what?

I can get behind that statement. The players are hard working, selfless, amazing and everything else type of guys. Totally stand by that. I love seeing them boys win spite Brownells poor adjustments, pitiful clock management, hum de ho attitude towards a 500 season and so on. I even hit back on the wagon while we played in greenville and went to every game I could to show support thinking new facilities and "extra coddling" would somehow ignite something. It did not. Still sitting thru every season watching a game numb. I used to get so into games id pace the last few minutes of a close game and when cbb would do something like be down by 4 and inbound ball and allow 25 seconds off the clock (with under a minute to go) and call a timeout only after a guy gets trapped then call a quick screen that looked like it was just drawn up and never practiced it kind of made that spark go away. So now at the end of close games I'm relegated to knowing we will lose. But hey, its just Clemson Bball and we should have higher expectations as fans.
Again, agree qoth the player sentiment.

about the players, who puts the players together. The coach. CBB. You turd fans need to calm down and start giving the man some credit. He does everything you want a Division I basketball coach to do.

The only Clemson fans not pulling for this team have terminal cases of BDS — Brownell Derangement Syndrome. Enjoy it. Maybe even back away from the keyboard and buy a ticket.

Not JK and I disagree with JK's position a lot, moreso in the last 2-3 years.
But if you're not loving the basketball team and supporting CBB, why are you here?
I love Clemson basketball and want CBB to flourish as its head coach. But I'm not a CBB cult member, I have doubts about CBB's ability to be a consistent winner and have witnessed numerous boneheaded situational coaching from him (e.g., last week's at the end of the first half debacle). It has been painful to be a Clemson basketball fan under CBBs tenure.
I hold no goodwill toward Barnes or Purnell for their dead-of-night take the money and run departures, and Barnes badmouthing Clemson as he ran really sticks in my craw, but under Barnes and OP even the losses were exciting. Under Cliff Ellis we won a lot of games, too, and LJ was among the toughest places to play. But I was there for all of that too (I arrived on campus as a freshman the same year Ellis took over). That's all gone under CBB.
In my mind CDS is not immune from questioning either, e.g., the whole DJU saga the last two years, but I support him and the football team.
It's funny how JK calls the CDS fans a "cult" but cannot see his own cult-like fascination with CBB. There's "supporting the coach and the team" and there's what JK does for CBB (and indeed, there are some CDS can do no wrong cult-of-personality supporters here too).

He’s not an amazing recruiter. He didn’t manage the end of the first half well against Loyola Chicago. And I thought he left the starters in too long last night.
Still waiting on the Dabo cultists to admit that Dabo has made even one mistake.

Did you just ignore all the posts about how pissed off folks have been re: DJ and the lack of playing time for Cade? How Dabo has been protecting DJ at the team's expense. Have you not read the posts where people think Dabo's pride is getting in the way of good decision-making? Have you not seen the litany of responses around Dabo's thoughts on the portal and his, so far, lack of embracing it? Did you not read all of the negative posts about the SC game and how Dabo's decision not to put Cade in cost us our playoff spot?
If anything, Dabo has taken a mountain of grief this year regardless of whether you think it is deserved or not so, I'm not really sure what you are "still waiting on" for the cultists to admit. I'd say they have been rather vocal this year...

When you've won 8 conference championships and 2 national championships, you're going to come under a lot less criticism than someone who hasn't won squat in 13 years. However, I will admit that Dabo is loyal to a fault.

During Bowden years I I enjoyed basketball as much as football. And I pull for Clemson basketball to win everytime we hit the court. Also I want you to know Dabo def makes mistakes and even game costly mistakes. When BB came to Clemson and the first 6 years of his tenure the way I saw how he sets up a game from hiw Purnell did it was like mammy sweet fkn pie to me. I loved it and back then id make you look like a dumper the thoughts if how Brownell had the potential to make Clemson a yearly power. Then the next few yrs it just wore me down to see the same thing over and over. BB is missing something or somethings that will never allow him to achieve greatness. I've pondered it being everything from boosters to AD to assistant coaches to all sorts of variables. Idk what to tell you except as of now he is not the coach to lead Clemson basketball out if mediocrity. I don't want Purnell back and I wouldn't trade for Purnell years because I'd rather see our guys not go to the dance than buy a ticket only to have the girls dad tell us she left with Johnny in his 86 Trans am playing stairway to heaven on with his lez Paul while watching the top of her head dissappear before they left the driveway. Though I wish BB could recruit the caliber players Purnell got.
But is what is. I hope BB does fantastic when he gets to his next school because he is a good coach. Just not a good coach for Clemson
