Who you got winnin' the Coastal?

Jul 18, 2013, 11:32 PM

Noticing schedules I'm seeing Miami & Pitt get Seminoles so edge to Hokies who get BC & Md out-of-division.

Jockettes get UNC & VT @ home but go to Miami & Death Valley.

I really want Miami as much as possible but they've got UNC/FSU/PITT/Duke away that are all possible booby traps. The ACC is now stacked with quality football schools no matter what the uppity SEC may have to say. (25-24) So, unless Beamer's fall from relevancy continues I'm kinda expecting turkeys in the ACC championship game though I want The U then Carolina.

I'm thinking the winner of the VT-UNC game.

Miami has talent but I don't really trust picking them yet.

Agreed

For some reason I'm very high on UNC this year.

The Coastal will be very interesting over the next few years. There are several programs that could/should be on the rise (UNC, Pitt, Miami) and two more established programs that might be at crossroads (VT, GT). The division has been wide open the past few seasons. It would be great for the conference if a few of those teams finally stepped up.

Leaning towards UNC......

Its my opinion that QB is the most valuable position in football. When I look at other Coastal foes I just don't have confidence in their guys. Steven Morris is getting a ton of hype but I'm not sold on him. Having a great RB and experience at OL will certainly help him though.

Those who are ''in the know'' claim that Logan Thomas has great pro potential but I don't quite understand this myopic view. Didn't he have 4 int's in the spring game? What big game has he ever won? If they wanna jive about him being big then yes I get that. He is big. Does that equivilate to stardome? Not really.

So I'm leaning towards UNC. I have faith in Bryn Renner. I won't say that hes an NFL starter but I do in fact feel that he has the tools to make a roster. You don't see his name in the paper for ''getting Manzieled'' each night. For the most part he makes good decisions. I have yet to see him consistantly force the ball to a WR who is covered. He makes good use of his checkdown WRs and TEs. To use a line from Gruden, ''this guy'' has plenty of tools which could take UNC to the ACC title game against our Tigers.

I wish the Tarholes the best against the dirtpeckers. Nothing would start the season off better than to see the coots eat some humble pie vs the real Carolina. Not saying its a lock but it'd make my birthday a great one.

Go Tigers!!!

The U's gonna be LIVE this year IMO

They get back Stephen Morris AND Duke Johnson. That's gonna be one heck of a team, my friend.

Undoubtedly. Morris just won the skills competition @ Manning Passing Academy. If they beat Florida @ home week 2 they could very well run the table if they're level of talent is matched by consistency on game days. 2 defeats I think they'll have will probably be on the road against FSU & UNC.
