So all this talk about paws, claws, cats and kittens made me wonder what the players on the field notice during a game. I had the opportunity to talk with some of the outstanding young men who play high school football in my county as we served a meal for them after practice. Now before y'all say it, I will. I know it's not on the same level as college football. However, they all said with out hesitation, on the field or on the sidelines their concentration is on the play that is happening and what the coaches are saying. They said the two things they are always aware of is the noise the fans are making and they hear the band playing. They said the louder the crowd the more fired up they feel. They said it gives them the strength to dig deep even when they can barely catch their breath. They HEAR us screaming and stomping our feet on the bleachers! One of them cracked me up. He said I don't care how loud the crowd is, I still hear my mom saying knock him on his butt son!! They also said hearing the band crank it up and play loud gets them moving and feeling energized. They also said if the crowd gets quiet they feel like they are failing and disappointing their fans. So wave your paws up if you must, woo hoo or don't woo. Just open your mouth and yell LOUD!! Offense, defense, special teams, weather the Tigers are ripping them up or we go three and out. We have to let our Tigers hear us supporting them! And please if you hear someone around you start saying negative things about them shut it down immediately. Come on Tiger nation! Can we try getting Loud in the Valley this Saturday? We ask and expect the best of our team so why shouldn't they expect us to give our best to them in return? Let's Go!!
