The term "coot" originated

on this bored. I know this because I was the first one to use it to describe a USuc fan. It's fully documented and Crump can prove it by searching the old archives. I used it under my original handle "HowardRox".
Now, until proven otherwise, anytime you use that term you must deposit 25cent into my GoFundMe account and chant "Hail Fever!"

OK here's how it came about… I come from a family of hunters with three older brothers. I grew up hunting dove, quail, duck, rabbit or what ever. We often would kid each other about killing a trash bird, I.e. "Coot". It was a family joke for a long time. One day we were discussing Clemson's dominance of the gamecock football program, and past slogans used to describe that game such as: chicken kicking, rooster roasting, poultry pounding, etc. And as we were attempting to come up with new ones, I said that they were just a bunch of Coots. We laughed and joked about that being the perfect term for them. Not long afterwards, I was on Tiger net and used that term which resulted in much fanfare. The rest is history.
It should be an easy task to search the archives to find the first usage of that term, and gauge the reactions by the board of it's originality.
